Mama is also a strong women but her love for Walter made her lost the way. This shows in this quote, “Walter—What you ain’t never understood is that I ain’t got nothing, don’t own nothing, ain’t never really wanted nothing that wasn’t for you. There ain’t nothing as precious to me…There ain’t nothing worth holding on to, money, dreams, nothing else—if it means—if it means it’s going to destroy my boy.” P. 106 Walter begin drink, wonder around the town and not working just like a homeless man. Mama can't let this happen to her son so she trust Walter with the money and his liquor store.

Ruth once was a beautiful women, still are but her face is filled with disappointment. These disappointment comes from Walter's action. One example is he put his mind on the liquor store instead of family. One of Walter's dream is too big amount of money and how is he going to do this is to open a liquor store which the Younger family all disagrees with him, Walter believes that on one is the house is with him so he started to act "unfriendly" to Ruth because she is not with him too.

This art is related to Mama, of the up and down side of her. Nothing in the world is more important then her family and their proud of being black. After she saw Walter's reaction after losing $6500 she was horrified, she saw her son was about to give up the his proud of being black, the proud that their family hold for generations. Walter called Lindner that he was to sell the house and accept that they black people don't have the privilege to live in the neighborhood, this is the down side. After Lindner came, Walter change, his speech was totally difference from what he did in front of Mama, and this made Mam realize that her son is a man, he still got the proud in him.

This poem describes Mama. She is a mother loves her children equally, she would listen to you no matter how what kind of a person you are like. In the poem it says, "A mother is someone who believes in you." Mama always believes in her children and that's why she trust Walter to put $3000 into the bank for beneatha's medical school and $3500 for Walter's liquor store but Walter used all $6500 for himself and in the end he lost all of the money. Mama still love her son no matter what he did and what kind of person he is like.

After all he has done, Mama still loves him even if nobody does anymore.
