         <description><![CDATA[<div>Energy can never by created or destroyed because of the law of conservation of energy. Total energy of an isolated system remains constant. When a lamp is turned on the light turns on and light energy is transferred from the electrical energy from the outlet the lamp is plugged into. Just because the lamp is turned off does not mean the light energy is gone, it is just changed back into electrical energy.</div>]]></description>

In the PhET lab you can see that the sun which is light energy can transfer to solar panels which transfer electrical energy and goes to heat up water that gives off thermal energy. Or when you flip a switch to turn on the light you transfer electrical energy from the outlet to the light which gives off light energy and also thermal energy. </div>]]></description>
