Welcome to your PM Journey. We, at OPSR and CCR&R, are excited that you are interested in Pyramid Model Implementation. It is so beneficial to your programs especially staff, children and families.

While you wait to start the Implementation Phase, look at the material under the exploration and installation phases. These materials will ensure you are prepared to start and be successful.

Pyramid Modules

Via the CECPD training registry, you can receive Pyramid Modules- Infant/Toddler, Preschool and Birth to 5 - for Free. As well as other Pyramid Model trainings at a cost.

This is the first step for you and your staff to complete.

Pyramid Modules and Leadership Guides

This site is the official Pyramid Module Consortium training site. It has newer Pyramid Model Modules for a fee. It also has a Family Child Care specific Module.

There are also leadership guides for deeper implementation for each set of modules. These are a great resource. The Preschool Leadership guide is listed below for reference.

Implementation Exploration and Readiness Training

This training is free and is a great starting point. It starts with a review of the structure and purpose of the pyramid model, then into what program wide implementation is and how to prepare your program for it.

This is the first step in the Installation phase for program owners or administrators.

Exploration Presentation

This presentation is given to you by your local CCR&R consultant. Please schedule about 1-hour to meet with them to review the presentation and the benefits of Pyramid Model for your program, staff, families, and children.

Identify your Leadership Team

Once you know what is involved in Program-Wide Implementation, you need to identify your team.

Leadership Teams consist of at least the following people:

Program owners/ managers
Internal Practitioner Coach
A Classroom Teacher
A Parent
Programs can include more people by no more than 10-12 are recommended.

Internal Practitioner Coach

Your internal coach, the classroom practitioner coach, is one of the most important roles that you can define in the installation phase.

Who on your team is the natural coach/ mentor for the classroom teachers? Are they willing to coach others?

This guide will help you understand what the program coach could be doing to support teachers. Page 5 is about choosing your coach. Look at that page closely.

Practice Based Coaching for Internal Coach

It is a great self-paced training that will prepare your internal coach to mentor your teachers once they have been identified
