Facetime

Before Quarantine, I rarely facetimed my friends and used it around 1 or 2 times a month. At the beginning of quarantine I didn't facetime anyone, let alone talk to anyone. I was huddled in my room watching Anime all day long, and it was a really unhealthy phase for me. Then, around a month or two into quarantine it suddenly changed. I started facetiming everyday for 5+ hours a day. I facetimed for help with homework and it helped me get my homework done faster. I facetimed to watch baseball when it came back on and it got me back into baseball. Facetiming made me so many new friends and I was able to get closer with my friends. It also got me to be better in school as I was able to ask my friends on facetime them questions about it, and it got me back into old hobbies like baseball.

My fan

When we went to school I was at school for most of the day, and when I got home I went in my family room and did my homework in there. I rarely used my room besides to sleep. When quarantine hit, I immediately hit my bed for the next couple of months and almost never got up. When I sleep, I tend to turn my fan on to sleep for the whole night. Now that I was constantly in my bed, my fan was being used 24/7 now and got me through the summer with hot nights and was even used on the coldest nights of quarantine. Without my fan it would take countless more hours to sleep, and I thank it for helping me improve my sleep. This fan has ultimately helped my sleep for school and the first four days I have been to get up at the right time, instead of sleeping in till I have to rush for school.

The Duke

The Duke is my friends football that he bought from amazon. It is a NFL sized golden football that me and my friends all found amusing due to the color. It was the football we played all summer with and the football I got used to catching. The Duke is a inside joke in our friend group and we would pretend to hail the duke and we would all ask our friend if he was bringing the duke before we'd leave to hang out. It became such a big joke that we involved our dads in it and I got my dad to sign the football. The duke is something that symbolizes a big part of my summer and was the biggest inside joke within my friend group this summer.

Linda

Linda is yet another joke/thing inside my friend group that was prevalent this summer. Linda is the name that my friend named his speaker. We'd always use Linda to listen to music everyday. Whether it was biking to a specific location, or chilling in my friends backyard, Linda would always been playing. Most of the time I didn't get to control the music, but my friends music was alright I guess. Nonetheless, the music was still relaxing because it was more as a background thing than a giant blasting music. I even got my own speaker and named him Joshua and now Joshua and Linda are best friends.

Biking

Before Covid, I still enjoyed biking, but at much less frequent levels. As quarantine went on, I started biking more and more, and in the end, I was biking around at least 4 miles a day. Most days I biked to go somewhere, such as hanging out at center street or any other place, but some days I just biked as long as possible. At points I biked 10-15 miles a day. Biking is something that I look to continue to do, even as we phase out of quarantine and slowly return to normal. I hope to bike to school everyday there and back, which for me is around 2.5 miles in total. I feel like biking is such a healthy thing to do, and doesn't require too much effort, while being a lot more fun than walking. Biking for me is something that gets my mind off things and is entertaining to do.
