Yes he should because he created the monster, and just left it on its own to thrive. He should have a sense of a responsibility and care for bringing the being into the world.

Whether or not Frankenstein should give in to the creature's request depends on what he is trying to accomplish. Creating another companion for the desolate beast could provide a means of pacification. Throughout the novel, all of the creature's shortcomings have been due to his search for happiness. Whether it be Felix's vicious attack after stalking the cottagers, or Frankenstein sticking his hand into the seemingly warm fire only to experience pain. All of these issues could have been prevented had the creature been content. To prevent further problems from arising, the only logical approach is to satisfy the creature's demands. Maybe you should negotiate with terrorists.

On the other hand, it doesn't take much analysis to see why Frankenstein would want to remain firm against the monster's wishes. After all, the monster murdered close members of Frankenstein's family. Why on Earth would Frankenstein want to further his own suffering. It seems all the creature has done is bring pain to him, so what good would another one do?

I think that he should help and fulfil the monster's request. I think this because the monster would want a partner, like all animals do, and if brought up properly, the mate should come to have the mindset of a human, so then it would be just as dangerous as bringing up a child, so I don't see any reason not to.

However, maybe he should not, since the creation of the 1st monster cost a lot of Frankenstein's mental health, and another monster would further deteriorate his mind.

Yes Frankenstein should accede to the creature's request to create a mate for him due to the fact that he has essentially abandoned the monster and hung him out to dry. A mate for the monster would lighten his mood a bit, and he could have somebody, who is just as ugly as him, to talk and laugh with. If the monster looked normal, then Frankenstein should not create a mate, however, due to the monster's distinct looks and the fact that he has been shunted from society, yes, Frankenstein should create a mate for the monster.

This would also stop the trail of destruction the monster has left.

However, the monster is clearly hideous and loathed by humanity which is a reason that he should not be able to reproduce, especially because of all the deaths he has caused when he murdered William and framed Justine.

In conclusion NO

I think that Frankenstein should give into the monster's demands as he owes it to his creation, of whom he has abandoned to the world to be taught the duality of human ways, but there is also the threat of further harm being done against Frankenstein mentally and his family members physically by way of murder. However, a reason that Frankenstein should not give into the monster's demands is that if he created a mate for him the two could either not get along at all and so two angry monsters would be a problem, or they could get along too well and produce a whole race of creatures that could conquer the Earth.

Frankenstein should not give the monster a companion due to the fact that, one's intentions (the monster) was at first benevolent though the natural, social rejection that it faced has caused it to turn into a malicious creature. As well as this the murder of both Justine and (Frankenstein's own brother) William is not justified, due to the fact that it was an act of violence.

On the other hand a companion might be the right way forward for the monster. One perspective that can be seen is that of a sense of a guilt on Victor's behalf. Victor, its father, its creator neglected him after bringing the monster into this world, the monster deserves something from his Father. He needs an explanation justifying the actions of Victor. Therefore a companion might be the solution wanted by the Monster.
