I have a couple family members who've invested in stocks, but none ever made a living out of it. My unfortunate uncle actually lost his house in the market, so no one ever dived too deep into the market after that. My brothers always bought stocks in technology like AMD, a chip manufacturer for cellphones and computers. I have a friend that's only 19 that's having great success dealing with stocks. He recommended me a penny stock, I forgot the name but it was a company dealing with legal marijuana and hemp.

Buying stocks right now in this moment

AMD is definitely one of my choices, because they're cheap stocks and all the newest smartphones usually have AMD chips. The growth of the company in one year is drastic with a 264%, and even within 5 days, the growth of the stock has been increasing 3.78% with minor bumps. However, even though I do believe this is a good stock to invest in, I would keep my eye on the stock until it drops more so I could buy more cheaper shares, and sell it when the market picks back up again, and it will. The current price of this stock is $13.59 a share but my aiming price would be around $8-$10 like it was back in November 2016- Mid December 2016, before the holiday season and new year came around. A few months later in February the stock dropped but that is the risk of the stock market. But for every drop there is a rise and in April, the stock price is at a yearly high.

The profit off my investment into AMD

Spending $5,000 all on AMD stocks at $8 a share would give me 625 shares, 10$ a share would give me 500 shares. Selling all 625 shares at $13.59 a share would give me $8493.75, giving me $3493.75 in profit. Selling 500 shares at $13.59 would be $6795, giving me $1,795 in profit. Of course all this isn't straight towards my pocket, there would be fees from my broker and the trading site that I used, but the profit would still be high.

Wealth creating assets are investments that make you money. "Wealth-creating asset is a possession that generally increases in value or provides a return such as a savings account, a retirement plan, stocks & bonds, or a house." (Understanding Net Worth 2) Your car is an asset and an investment. It takes you to work to earn money however it doesn't make you money. A young person should establish a firm holding on necessities like a home, car, and any liabilities with debt. When you get older you should be earning the most, and be saving for things like your kids college and retirement. Also, pursuing income investments outside of your employer is crucial. "When your 10 years away from retiring, protecting your assets is more important than continuing to pursue growth." (Age-55 Retirement 11) This is when mutual bonds, bond funds, and annuities help balance growth & income.

Since I have to put $5,000 into a mutual fund, I opted to choose one that would pay off quicker rather than later, because I'm still young. The one I'd invest in would be the Fidelity Select Medical Equipment and Health. I feel like with more people born, and more people ageing, the health sector is and will always boom. The initial fund minimum is $2500 so I have enough. In just 5 years I'm getting 19.23% back in interest so my investment of 5 grand turned into almost 6. (5961.5)
