If I was at somebody else house and I wasn't allowed to eat the food, then I would just eat a little or not eat it at all, I would definitely not take it off other peoples plate and say that you can't eat it. This is like in Ban This Book when Amy Anne said that your parents should decide whether or not should read a book, this is the same concept, your parents should decide whether you get to eat something or not.
