One geographic feature that helped cities settle in Mesopotamia is the two lakes that run right by Mesopotamia. This helps because the cities would have all the water they need to give to others and themselves to stay alive easily.

Another geographic feature that helped cities settle in Mesopotamia is the dessert to the south of them. This is a reason why cities settled in Mesopotamia because the dessert is hot so they could maybe move in the winter or even get some heat for the dessert so the lakes may not freeze.

the geography made Mesopotamia thrive because there were two rivers surrounding Mesopotamia. Also since there were two rivers more people came to Mesopotamia with family and other members of their tribes.

government/laws are important because they don't want people doing all they want. If someone wants to kill someone they would have laws for them not to just do it and get away with it.

Hammurabi’s Code of Laws tells us about Mesopotamia by showing how people wight have been back in Mesopotamia and have acted. Also how their culture was and how they used their culture. Last it tells us that they had certain ways to live, like how they had slaves and what they lived in.

The code of law did solve the conflicts it was meant to address. The form of government made Mesopotamia fail and survive. This is because all the slaves were mostly angry at people while more rich people were fine with the rules because did not really have to take it into their minds.

the class divisions in Mesopotamia are the upper class with the king and his family, high priests, the middle class with the scribes, commoners, Merchants and artisan. And the lower rank with the slaves.
One job for the upper class would be the king. This rank, you need to be loyal to your people and you have to be smart with your decisions when you rule.
One job for the middle class is scribe. The scribe has to write in their language and others for the king to talk to other cities around who may have a different language or the same.
One job for the lower class is the slaves. The slaves would have to help their owners. Mostly go in the fields so their owner can sell their crops even though they did nothing and the slaves did everything.

their were mostly benefits in the upper class because you got to rule most of your people while being treated better than others. One bad thing is that if you made a bad decision people might hate you for it. The social class made Mesopotamia thrive because they got to tell other about them so others would come to them so they would have more land and a bigger army to defend themselves with.

Some religions that were in Mesopotamia are that they had people who would worship other gods. They used the polytheistic belief system, which means that the people believed in multiple gods instead of just one. They also believed in demons created by the gods, which could be good or evil. Another belief is that they believed that having slaves were good. They thought that slaves could do work for them and they can do what ever they want while the slaves collect from their farms and then the owners sell the food for money.

Its purpose is to get the temple closer to the heavens, and provide access from the ground to it via steps. The Mesopotamia's believed that these pyramid temples connected heaven and earth. Also the ziggurat are as emblematic of Mesopotamia as the great pyramids are of ancient Egypt. These ancient stepped buildings were created to be home to the patron god or goddess of the city. As religion was central to Mesopotamian's life, the ziggurate was the heart of a city. Last in Dhi Qar Province in present day Iraq and was built around 2100 BC. Today, after four thousand years later, it is still standing in the middle of the desert. This building is older than The Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. The ziggurate of Ur is the oldest standing monument on earth.

There was art to tell others about them and there culture. Also there was art that helped communicate with different cities or plan to attack other cities.
Some art forms in Mesopotamia are the gods. The gods were statues that people made then people worshiped. Also another form of art was art that showed their culture. There purpose was to show others what their culture was and why they did it in that way.

It is important to study art from ancient civilizations because it can tell us the culture if places back then or what they did or lived in. Also Art from the past holds clues to life in the past. By looking at a work of art's symbolism, colors, and materials we can see what they could have been working on or what was their plans for their city.
