II. My teaching context

Secondary School "Grigore Moisil", Ploieşti is situated in the North Quarter of Ploieşti, was established on 1 September 1964.

The school operates with 2 kindergarten groups, 21 primary school classes, 16 middle school classes, totaling 1073 students and 53 teachers, a director and a deputy director. Our students follow the implemented by the Romanian Ministry of Education curriculum. Every year, the school implements a variety of projects (Environmental, Health Education, eTwinning projects), we have many Quality labels. It is also involved in many student competitions (poetry, literature, mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry, biology) winning major awards. Furthermore, we participate every year in school sports competitions in team sports, as well as in individual sports. There are a few sports-class classes in the school. Our school students are national and European champions at rhythmic gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, swimming.

Our school works with local schools and European schools through the eTwinning platform. We encourage the involvement of our students in projects and activities that exploit their creativity, talents and special interests. The e-twinning projects of the school received national awards (2018) and European (Poland, 2018)

I am a French teacher and I enrolled in etwinning in 2008. I have developed many projects with partner schools in other European countries. For me etwinning means collaboration, involvement, creativity, personal and professional development and, especially, many friends.

Task 5. Benefits of eTwinning for your school

eTwinning represents a window open to the world, an opportunity for the professional and personal development of students and teachers. As for my school, I think eTwinning has brought flexibility, openness, motivation, more creativity and inspiration. Starting this year we are an etwinning school and we want to enrich our teaching, digital and communication skills through other equally exciting and attractive projects.

How the local community can benefit eTwinning?

eTwinning offers teachers opportunities for continuous, online and free vocational training, which can be a benefit for the local community, which can thus have better trained professionals with digital, communication and collaboration skills. Teachers have a wide range of tools to help them improve their teaching methods: from self-assessment tools to personal development materials, from online seminars to training events and intercollegiate learning to events Highlighted eTwinning.

e-twinning is an inspiration for teachers and students in a local community, through the tools they offer and whose role is to help and facilitate their efforts to start their own projects.

The role of ambassadors in the country is to promote etwinning actions and to motivate teachers' participation in etwinning projects. The ambassadors can carry out online training activities or face-to-face, through which to promote the results and benefits of the portal, the opportunities it offers to the teachers in their country.

It is not a problemif my students are not goog enough to use the computer. Teachers participating in a project collaborate, learn together from each other. Etwinning is the place whwew we grow up toggether.

Certificatele „Scoala eTwinning” reprezintă atăt o recunoaştere a reuşitei personale a profesorilor, cât şi o confirmare a rezultatelor deosebite obţinute de întreaga echipa eTwinning din aceste şcoli. În România, 63 de instituţii de învaţământ preuniversitar au obţinut titlul de „Scoala eTwinning 2019-2020”.

Şcolile din Prahova care au obţinut certificatele sunt:
Scoala Gimnaziala "Grigore Moisil" Ploieşti, care deruleaza în prezent patru e-Twinning (coordinator prof. Stan Cristina) şi două proiecte Erasmus+ KA2, acţiunea cheie 2 (coordonator prof. Nica Alina).
