         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><pre>The Parnassos National Park was founded in 1938 and it has an area of 36,000 acres. It has impressive steep slopes and rich flora. Here is dominated by the Kefalonian fir, Malokedro and Mavri Pefki. Parnassos is also among the 10 richest plant species in Greece. From animals we find the vulture, the serpent, the golden eagle, the woodpeckers, the night owls, the birds of prey, the foxes, the wolves, the hares, etc.

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Located 30 kilometres from Athens, the Parnitha National Park  covers an area of 3,812 hectares. Apart from the mountain of the same name, the park includes lakes, gorges and caves. Perfect for hiking, birdwatching and mountain biking , the park has two refuges and is known for its wild tulips. But the area is also a natural habitat for pine and fir trees, as well as diverse wildlife and includes several sites of archaeological interest, such as the Tatoi Palace and a few remnants of fortresses.<br>Panagiotis Proimos .</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Samaria Gorge is a National Park of Greece since 1962 on the island of Crete-a major tourist attraction of the island- and a world's Biosphere Reserve.<br>The gorge is in Southwest Crete in the regional unit of Chania.It was created  by a small river running between the White Mountains and Mt. Volakias.There are a number of other gorges in the White Mountains.While some say that the gorge is 18 km long but in fact is 16km long.The walk through Samaria National  Park is 13km long.The gorge became a national park in 1962,particularly as a refuge for the rare kri-kri(Cretan  goat).There are several other endemic spesies in the gorge and surrounding area as well as many other spesies of flowers and birds.<br>John Benopoulos </div>]]></description>
