         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Topic 1 I learned about the SAMR model. With that, I learned that as educators we should not just be using technology as a subsitute. We should be using it to redefine our lessons to enhance the students learning. Instead of just telling our students about the White House, we can take them on a virtual tour where they can walk through the actual White House together. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Topic 2 I learned about ethics and how they can apply to using technology in the classroom. I learned about how we as teachers need to educate the students about proper usage of technology. Computer ethics should be a topic in our curriculum and we should have specific lessons about it throughout the year. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Topic 3 I learned about different tools that we can use to communicate with our students and/or their families. We created classroom websites and learned about what types of things are appropriate to put on those classroom websites. Classroom websites are a great tool to use to give announcements, post homework assignments, and keep parents updated about what is going on in the classroom. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In this topic I learned all about the Flipped Classroom. The Flipped Classroom is where the instruction is taught through a video that students access outside of the classroom and then when they come back the next day, the instruction inside the classroom is activities that related to the video. Using this strategy, teachers have more time for meaningful activities. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>For Topic 5 I learned how important differentiated instruction is in the classroom and how I can differentiate instruction using technology. If we use instruction then we open the door for more student-centered instruction. Students guide their learning with guidance from the teacher. This can happen when we provide them with hands-on activities that enhance the content and allow them to explore and create.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Topic 6 was about supporting assessments through technology. There are so many tools that make creating and grading assessments very easy. Socrative was a tool that we used on several occasions during this topic. Socrative is very easy to use, collects individual data of the students, and even saves created assessments to be used for later on.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
