Connecticut- The problem was that smaller states feared that they would not have any power, Connecticut created a compromise that gave states equal powers.
3/5ths- The conflict the 3/5ths compromise solved was the issue of counting slaves as a white person towards the population count for each state. The slave owners of the south wanted more political power, therefore they wanted slaves to be accounted for in the census. The resolution for this conflict was that each slave counted as 3/5ths of a person towards the population count for determining representatives, presidential electors, and taxes.
-Commerce and Slave Trade- Framers agreed that the Congress has the power to regulate foreign and interstate trade. But people in the South were afraid that it would interfere with their slave trade. So the Congress was forbidden the power to tax the export of goods from the states, and the power to act on slave trade for at least 20 years.

Connecticut (HA)- the Connecticut Compromise was meant to end the deadlock between supporters of the rival New Jersey and Virginia plans. the Connecticut Compromise agreed that Congress should be composed of two houses; the senate and the house in the Senate, the states would be represented equally and in the House, the representation would be of each state would be based on the population.
3/5th (PR)- There was debate about whether or not to count slaves when determining the amount of representatives for each State. Southern states argued that slaves should be counted so that they would have more representatives, while northern states disagreed. The resolution was to count all free people in every state, and three/fifths of the slaves.

Commerce and Slave Trade (LK)- Generally, the Framers agreed that the Congress must have the power to regulate foreign and interstate trade. However, many southerners worried that the Congress would act against the interests of their own. Some of their fears were that Congress would-
1. Try to pay for the new government out of export duties; for example tobacco.
2. Interfere with the slave trade.
So the southerners insisted that the Congress must be forbidden the power to
-tax the export of goods from any State
-act on the slave trade for a period of at least 20 years.
-interfere with "the migration or importation of such persons as any State now existing shall think proper to admit," except for a small head tax, at least until the year 1808.
