Learning my approach to building a healthy relationship with the students at Jones High School was not going to be an easy task . I overcame this challenge. I wanted to make an impact on students and accomplish the service learning goals the teacher and I set. I revised my thought about my approach with the students. I made the conscious effort to change my mindset about the students I am serving. I worked on getting to know more about them by asking questions and sharing things about me that we have in common such as favorite candy, foods, and TV shows. I was able to build strong relationship with the students in the classroom.
