Today I watched a movie called "vivarium".It's a suspense film. The script is extremely normal at the beginning. The couple bought a house and a strange guider lead them to their new house which located in an huge living area ,but they are the only resident who live there.Suddenly, that guy disappeared. They couldn't get out there although they have tried every single way. They were stuck in the house. One day ,A baby appeared in front of their house thus they had no choice but feed him up. Finally, the couple were tormented to death. And that weird kid became the guider of this house sales. And this terrible circulation(vivarium) keep going.
Of course there are so many details I didn't cover.I think the style of this movie is pretty brand new and creative.

Today I watched a horror movie called "Get out". I have to say that the whole story is so unpredictable. At the beginning, it's just a white girl dating a black man and try to take him to see her parents. After they come to the house, the whole family are so friendly and enthusiastic. But he notices one thing is that the servants are both black people and they act so weird. Like they are trying to hide the true face and show him a fake smile. By the way her mom is a psychologist who is good at hypnosis and her father is a psychosurgery. All strange things appear one after another, finally he realised something wrong with all people here and this odd house. When he try to get out with his girlfriend, he found a box contained many photos. What is the most unpredictable is that all characters in the photos are his girlfriend and black man and the last photos are those servants and him with his girlfriend. In fact, the whole family are pretending including his girlfriend, they just induced black people to their house through their daughter and doing surgery to them to transfer her grandparents conscious on black people, maybe because they have good gene. Eventually, he got out depends on his intelligent and run away. The whole story is mainly like this, but there are still a lot of details I didn't cover. If you look back from the start, actually, there are plenty of hints of what the truth is. Sometimes, I may even would consider that am I in a fake world after watching this kind of movies.

I recently watched the videos called " Test your brain". There are three episodes in total. Apparently, these are all about our brain. I felt amazed about the content in the videos, because they seem to be able to control your mind. For example, at the beginning of the first episode, a magician was doing his magic and after few minutes the whole background even his hat was changed. Most of people didn't notice that, me either. They call this change blindness. Our attention can only see few things clearly at one time. The world is too big for us to notice everything. Many people use this human defect to stealing. They will try to attract you in some way, then you won't be able to know what he's doing with you, even he outs his hand in your pocket. This show is all about our brain. After watching these videos, you may wonder is the views we saw and the things we heard about before all true?
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/xq1p3e
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/xq1rfl
https://www.enhancetv.com.au/video/test-your-brain-memory/9157

For today's class, we discussed about several issues about advertising. There are definitely too much advertising in the world now. We can see Advertisement almost everywhere, on walls, in the front of a video and covers of books...... I think some of them are harmful for public, especially for kids and adolescents. Because of the wide range of advertising spread, some companies can get a lot of money from young people due to they spend billions on their own purchases (Lapierre, Fleming-Milici, Rozendaal, McAlister & Castonguay 2017). Also, some unhealthy information may exist in some advertising (Lapierre, Fleming-Milici, Rozendaal, McAlister & Castonguay 2017).
Talking about removing all advertising, I don't think it would improve the society. We still need to know some great products via advertising. But we should focus on improving the quality of advertising. Try to show us the exact situation in advertising instead of using more persuasive techniques.

Lapierre, MA Fleming-Milici, F Rozendaal, E McAlister, AR & Castonguay, J 2017, ‘

The Effect of Advertising on Children and Adolescents’, ePediatrics, vol. 140, No. 21, pp.152-156, viewed 23 August 2020,< https://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/140/Supplement_2/S152>.

I took some notes about this presentation. This orator mainly interprets the idea of AI taking over teachers in the future. It clearly explained how AI can play a greater role in teaching and helping students to have personalized learning. It's a good source for me. But I won't use it in my essay or annotated bibliography. Because this is a video I found on Youtube and the speaker seems not so experienced about presentation.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-GECSptc9vQ

On 23 August, a huge shocking event happened in America, A a 29-year-old Africa-American man was shot seven times by a police officer called Rusten Sheskey. First time I saw this video on instagram uploaded by a basketball superstar. I thought it's just a part of a movie because it's too unreal to happen in my world view. It's not the first time this kind of things happen in America. They just treat them like animals, police officers don't care about their feelings. Jacob got nothing on his hands, he just walked into the car, and that police shot straight to Jacob in front pf his family. When I heard the screaming of Jacob's family, it really broke my heart. I've seen a video before it's about a Africa-American man interpreting how to live as a black man in America. His mom told him 1. never come out at night 2. never stare to a police man 3. when a police ask you to stop the car, then sop immediately and put your both hands on the wheel, do exactly what police man says. A lot of rules took their freedom but that's their living principle. I truly hope there will be some changes about this unethical fact soon. No matter what colour we are, we're both emotional human beings. This racial discrimination must be fixed.

Homework (meat consumption)

Meat consumption has increased dramatically in recent years. The average amount of meat consumed<del>ptio</del>n per person has doubled over the past 50 years (The Guardian (year? ). It not only causes devastating impacts on environment but also negatively influence humans health (The Guardian). If we eat less meat, then we may have more fresh air to breathe due to reduced <del>the </del>emission of greenhouse gases (The Guardian & video). Some people probably think it's not good for their body. However, the fact is that it can prevent us getting a lot of fats (video) which keeps us in good shape and reduces the risk of <del>to have </del>obesity. Thus It seems to be a good idea to control our meat consumption. Nowadays, global warming has caused many issues all over the world. The processing of meat and the residual treatment of meat both can produce greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide. Fifteen percent of all anthropogenic emissions is caused by livestock production (The Guardian). It definitely contribute to global warming, which leads to sea levels rising. Many coastal cities suffered from <del>the </del>high sea level <del>even </del>some cities are (even) facing the risk of being submerged. Therefore, if everyone can just consume fewer <del>less </del>livestock products, there would be more benefits <del>rather than disadvantages</del> for both individual health <del>self-healthy</del> and environment.

Reflection of a video

The photo below is the notes I took about this video. It's talking about applying robots teachers in the future and some countries have already put it into practice. Due to the fact that current technology is not good enough to design a perfect, self-thinking robot teacher, we should not rely on AI too much. In this stage, most AI techniques we are using in education are artificial narrow intelligence. They can only do the tasks that humans programmed on them. It may be a good idea to use AI robots being teachers to solve the global issue -- the lack of teachers but the precondition is that they wouldn't bring negative influence to children. Therefore, I believe when the time is right AI teachers can be a powerful assistance in education.

Reference:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zm-ZJrsiRvU
