A key part of this is urban mobility.</div><div>-To attract investors and residents, Singapore had to reduce congestion and provide roads that moved goods and labour efficiently.</div><div>-Singapore invested heavily in public transport</div><div>-where MRT access would raise land values and enable land sales there to subsidise MRT costs.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Moht Moht:</div><div>-Effective mobility is a compelling need for people with disabilities.</div><div>-Mobility is an important aspect in the lives of people with disabilities as they are usually left out on so many activities of daily life.</div><div>-Many parents with disabled children think such children are a curse and a burden to the family.</div><div>-Some parents lock them in houses or abandon them in compounds while the rest of the family socialises since some of them are not able to move at all. </div><div>-Such children are likely to stay in the same place hungry, scorched by the sun.</div><div>- Many are left at the mercy of the neighbours to give them food if they care enough but also sometimes do not mind about them.</div><div><br></div><div>Natalie:</div><div>-essential for getting through the day</div><div>-Loss of mobility is common among older adults and have profound social, psychological, and physical consequences</div><div>-immobilization comes incontinence, because you can’t get to the bathroom, you can develop urinary infections, skin infections</div><div>-They discovered common factors that lead to loss of mobility, such as older age, low physical activity, obesity, impaired strength and balance, and chronic diseases such as diabetes and arthritis.</div><div>-Less common red flags included symptoms of depression, problems with memory or thinking skills, being female, a recent hospitalization, drinking alcohol or smoking, and having feelings of helplessness.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>
