Shek Kip Mei estate is the first public housing estate in Hong Kong. It was one of the earliest resettlement buildings that is built in 1954. Most of the first settled residents have stayed there for decades and established a neighborhood of their own. Mei King Dim Sum restaurant has been there for over a decade and gained a bunch of regulars. One may think early dim sum only appeals to elders. However, Mei King has attracted many student customers throughout the years. Most students are from nearby universities, including the City University of Hong Kong and Hong Kong Baptist university.
