An Ethernet cable consists of numerous wires with different colors, and each of them holds a significant role in providing a fast internet connection. These color-coded wires serve as the social institutions that help maintain stability in our society. Each of them plays a crucial role in instructing individuals in proper behavior, adherence to rules, fulfilling their societal roles, fostering inclusiveness, and facilitating potential social transformations. These wires are covered with plastic and insulation, which holds them together to ensure that they will function, similar to how functionalism emphasizes the importance of every part of society. This instills in our community the idea that working together and fulfilling our responsibilities will help our society prosper.

Conflict theory reminds me of something I've read on social media, where someone pointed out that they noticed only a few people from low-income backgrounds attend prestigious universities, while many individuals from high-income families are enrolled there. The author of the post implies that this discrepancy exists because wealthy individuals have access to various resources that help them enhance their skills and acquire the knowledge needed to pass university admissions. I believe this is where conflict theory comes into play. It's not solely about social class determining why some people are unable to pass admission tests at prestigious universities; rather, it's also about the government's failure to make education accessible for everyone. They have reduced the budget for state universities, limiting the number of students these schools can accommodate. The root causes of this issue stem from oppression by educated and corrupt individuals who misuse confidential funds, which are hard-earned by Filipino citizens.
