For this flag, I cut some straws to the length I wanted and then pushed down on them to make them flat. Next I glued them down where the original lines were.

Peter Kennard

Peter Kennard is a London born and based photomontage artist and Professor of Political Art at the Royal College of Art. He decided to turn from painting to photomontage to better address his political views. I haven't seen work like Peter's before but I like it as i find it very unique. The work seems to show things about war and the images mostly have two things merged together.

Jamie's work often featured letters cut from newspaper headlines. He also produced a series of screen prints in 1997. In my opinion, I am not a fan of his work because some of the words used are not very appropriate.

These fruits were made with wool, then swirled into the shape I wanted and then stuck down with a mixture of a glue stick and a hot glue gun.

All of these sketches are part of my character design development. I wanted the way that the characters looked to show a certain emotion like for example the heart shows love, friendships and relationships. The jeans are very worn and torn which makes them look sad. The characters in the bottom left look very basic and straight faced which I believe makes them look bored and quiet but also clever and the boss. The dress with the huge cloud remind me of rainbows and someone that is happy and cheerful. The other dress reminds me of the same emotions.

For this response I added a newspaper image as a background and then I found a girl in a big dress for the main focus of the piece. For this I cut the image out and then changed it to a threshold image. I then changed the opacity and also changed the opacity of the newspaper.

My inspiration for this was from Peter Kennard's shredded garment piece.

This storyboard is my idea on the cycle of fast fashion materials. The materials get found and the best ones get chosen. They then get taken to be made into clothing that fits the current trends. Someone will then purchase what is made and then the clothes go to the same place they started at.

This piece here was supposed to be my final idea but I had changed my mind. My reason for this was because I believe it looks poorly put together and the person and the clothes did not blend as nicely as I hoped. The pile of clothing was supposed to look like a dress but this did not happen.

With this experiment I changed the background to black and white and kept the pile of clothes in colour to see if I would prefer it and I did not.

On this piece I did not like the colour of the background or the pile of clothing. I feel like there isn’t a clear difference between so it almost looks like they blend together.

I decided to try a darker background with coloured clothing but I didn’t like this outcome. I wanted the background to stand out more and I feel it didn’t.

This piece here is one of my favourites. I really like the font and I like the colours used in the background and the pile of clothing. I feel that they blend nicely together.

I tried to experiment with something different coming out the clothing but I did not like this. This is because the hands are not in the right position and it almost looks rushed.

This poster here is the one that I decided to be my final piece. My reasoning is because I really like the layout and text that I used but I also really like the colours. I changed the brightness and contrast to the create the colour of the background. The pile of clothing has a black and white filter but also a posterize filter.
