Semicolon is used in phrases that could’ve ended but decided to continue. In my story, I experienced a lot of struggles as a woman with neurological problems I just found out that having depression and anxiety is part of my disability. At first, I can’t accept the reality I’ve struggled many such as; suicidal thoughts, self harming and even attempted S. As I’m looking at my scars right now I learned to accept the reality of my life that God gave me. Therefore, I learned to embrace everything in my life, of what I have and decided to just continue to live my life to the fullest. I am looking forward to share my story in the future to others but for now I am ending my story here and share some of my journey.

It’s about the moments when you felt unsure, overwhelmed, or lost—but still chose to keep going. Not because everything was perfect, but because something inside you—faith, love, hope—refused to give up. It’s a story of how your struggles didn’t define you, but refined you. And how, even in the hardest chapters, grace found a way in.

When I was a child, I didn’t experience happy moments or what we call ‘childhood memories.’ Instead, I was sometimes hit and shouted at. At a young age, instead of enjoying my childhood, I was challenged to face reality. As I grew older, I faced a lot of struggles, worse than you could imagine. Sometimes I felt like I wasn’t worth it; I wondered why I was here in this world. Life felt so unfair. But the good thing was that this wasn't new to me. I had been here before. I am grateful to myself as I didn't give up. I'm proud of myself because despite of my experiences, I'm still here — standing, breathing, living my life (miserable life). I committed SH, I also thought of committing S, if I'm being honest. But, you know what is the thing that keep me on going? My faith and love for Him, and His love for me. I pray to God, begging him to heal my wounds, to heal me physically and mentally, I surrender all of my unsaid feelings to Him because I know that He won't judge me and that He will guide me. And I was right, He listened, He didn't abandoned me. After everything, I chose to forgive after what they did because I know that it will heal me, I know that it will lead me to a new beginning. Through this, I get to share my feelings and experiences, thank you for this opportunity. And to my fellow students, peers who might experiencing the same, please always remember that you matters and you are worth it. And He loves you. - Jean

A strong faith is like a golden thread that runs through all the ups and downs of life. It is the unshakable faith in a higher power, a trust that goes beyond understanding. This faith is not just accepting something; it is actively interacting with the divine. The word of wisdom, which are timeless truths that guide our steps, nourishes it. The knowledge that comes from trying to connect with the Almighty deepens it. When we stand on these principles, we know we are not alone and have the strength to face any storm. Faith that is strong is a gift from God that shows us the way. People don't have to do anything to get it; they just have to open their hearts.

(Close to my realname)

This issue were happened, September 1*, 2025. I’ve been dealing this personal problems right now, I just need someone to rant about this because it’s affecting my academic life.

My parents found out that I have a boyfriend. My parents were mad about it because they don’t like my boyfriend. They judge him like he did something criminal, which is over ra kaau ang judgement. If i-describe nako akong bf too many to mention but to shortened it he was a MAN OF PRINCIPLE and a MAN WHO WORSHIPPED GOD—it was like nigawas sya sa mga romance book nga akong gina read. After nila makabalo, gitawagan nila akong bf and gi kasab-an and ni abot napud sa point nga gi threatened nila akong bf. Tho, di man akong immediate family ang nag threatened saiyaha—it was my tita. Sister sa akong mama, nilahak akong mama tungod kay nag uyab2 ko. Pero tao rapud baya ko mahigugma pud, bisan unsaon nako pag stop sa akong feelings sa akoang bf dili jud nako macontrol. Pero bisan man nga gi threatened na akong bf and gipanagkasab-an nami kay nganung wala nako sya gipailaila. So, please don’t judge me and to clarify lang dili napud ko minor age nako is 20 and my bf is 22, we’re LDR couple. He’s in Manila and naa ko diri Davao.

(We’ve been knowing each others name for 2years since we’re in 1 big circle, tho, year 2024 kami nag talk and 1yr and 1month nasad mi as couple.)

Now, ang desisyon sa akoang parents kay magbulag mi or mo undang kog skwela. Which is tutol akoang bf dili sya gusto nga ing ana ang pamaagi. So, nag talk mi sa akoang bf and nag decide ko nga mag bulag nalang mi. It was a HARD choice kay sya jud akong sumbongan pag kapoy na sa school or work, sya akoang sandalan sa tanan kay dili man sad nako maistorya sa akoang parents kay mangasaba raman, in-short sya akong kauban sa tanan when no one else dared to ask if how I was doing.

After that night, nagbulag mi and super sakit kaau nga ing ato ang ending sa amoang duha.

Nawal-an kog gana sa tanan sa pagskwela and even sa akoang work. 2weeks walay tarong kaon and tulog, and I even tried to to my wrist but i don’t want evidence. So, I cut my other leg using b/4de it was painful but it gives satisfaction to me. Until now, Im still fighting and hoping na mapasaylo ko sa akoang parents and tita. Pero as of now, dili pajud nako sila matalk because wala koy courage to face them. I admit i made a mistake and i take responsibility for that.

Thank you for reading, I feel lightheaded right now.

-Chin,

1st year Irregular (transferee)

BSED ENG

Growing up, my childhood home was not always a place of comfort. My parents quarreled almost every day. Their voices were loud, their words were hurtful, and it made our home feel heavy. I would cover my ears at night, praying that tomorrow would be quieter and kinder. As a little girl, I often thought it was my fault, and that made me feel even more sad and alone. 😔

🏫At school, I tried to smile like everything was okay, but inside, I carried pain. I watched other families laugh together, and I asked myself, “Why can’t mine be like that?” I wanted peace, but instead, I came home to anger and shouting.

Over time, I learned small ways to help myself. I remembered before that when I felt sad, I wrote my emotions in my math notebook to release my feelings. I prayed for strength when I felt weak. I talked to my close friend Aetherine👭, who listened to me without judgment. These little steps gave me comfort and reminded me that I was not alone.

Slowly, I realized something important: their fights were not my fault. I cannot control their choices, but I can control how I respond. I chose to be brave, to take care of myself, and to keep believing in better days.😇💗

I'll end my story here first beacuse I think this is too long to shared it here. Anyways, my story is not just about the pain I felt, but about the strength I discovered. Even in a house full of quarrels, I found ways to grow stronger, kinder, and more hopeful. I am proof that struggles can build resilience and that even in hard times, light can still be found.✨️

-Shee, BSA 1

There are moments when I look at others and see how talented they are, and I can’t help but compare myself. I feel like I try many things but never become great at any of them. Deep down I know that each of us is unique, but sometimes it’s hard to silence that voice that tells me I’m not enough.

In my studies, I’ve also faced heavy thoughts. Because of our financial struggles, I almost gave up on college. I felt guilty, thinking I should be working instead to support my family. Still, there is a small flame inside me that refuses to die. It pushes me to keep going even when I’m afraid. My relatives wanted me to take a course like seaman, but we couldn’t afford it. So I chose Social Work, the course within our reach, somehow. I know they have silent expectations on me and I can't clearly look at them in the eye, but this is my choice.

My family's journey hasn’t been easy. My mother is my constant strength, but I also carry the weight of my father’s actions. As a child, even small mistakes would make him angry — words and actions that left me feeling hurt and distant. I don’t hate him, but I hate what those moments did to me. Until now, I wish for change, but I cannot tell him these feelings face-to-face.

Because of these scars, I grew up learning how to stay silent. In family gatherings, I often hide my voice. I wish I could just be a child again — free, safe, and able to speak without fear. When arguments happen at home, I feel overwhelmed. Sometimes, the pain inside me feels so heavy and I have this kind of action that I cannot handle myself that I want to grab things and throw it anywhere just to make them stop and I don't know I am like this I just cried until the pain is gone.

But even through all this, I have never thought of ending my life. I believe life is a gift, and I cannot throw it away. The struggles may be heavy, but my family — with all their flaws and love — is still my reason to keep moving. They are the light that reminds me to stand up again.

-NACH

I’ve felt exhausted, overwhelmed, and drained. I haven’t been getting enough sleep, and my mind is constantly racing—overthinking things that scare and pressure me. Life feels heavy sometimes. But still, I fight. I face every struggle head-on, because I know that if I don’t stand up for myself, I’ll let the weight consume me.

No matter how hard life gets, I choose to keep going. I try to be strong—not just for myself, but also for those who believe in me. Sometimes, all we really need is rest. And yes, we deserve that—especially when we’ve been working so hard and carrying so much. When things feel too much, I pray. I read verses. Somehow, they help lighten the burden. I’m still adjusting—especially with school and everything else going on—but I keep moving forward, because I have goals I want to achieve. I refuse to let myself or my family down. To anyone who feels the same way: you are not alone. Your feelings are valid. It’s okay to ask for help. It’s okay to rest. And most importantly—it’s okay to not be okay all the time. Let’s continue to support one another, break the stigma, and remind each other that there is always hope.

Sometimes I wonder why I was even born into this world if in the end, I would just be abandoned by the very person who gave me life. My mother chose to walk away, leaving us with nothing but questions and wounds that never seemed to heal. As a child, I thought a mother’s love was supposed to be unconditional, but in my story, it was the first thing that disappeared.

I grew up carrying not just my own pain, but also the silent cries of being the firstborn. Being “ate” meant I had to be strong even when I wanted to fall apart. I wiped away my tears in silence because I needed to show my siblings that life must go on. I buried my fears, my longing, and my brokenness just to protect my younger brother.

What makes it heavier is seeing my father—still holding on to a love that left us behind. Even he didn't tell us I can see it in his eyes. I hate that part of him, the part that still loves my mom despite the scars she gave us. And every time I see it, it makes me angry, because it feels unfair. Why do we have to suffer while she gets to walk away free? I feel hatred building up, because how can he still love the person who caused us so much pain?

There were nights I asked myself in silence: Why me? Why was I born if I was only meant to be abandoned? My heart ached for answers, but none ever came. All I had were the echoes of my own questions and the strength I was forced to build just to survive.

But in the middle of all this pain, I chose to rise. I became strong and independent, not because I wanted to, but because I had to. The struggles, the anger, the responsibilities, they all shaped me into who I am now. A woman who carries scars, yes, but also a woman who refuses to be broken.

— jas

This is the little quote I carry in almost everyday—it reminds me that I will keep figuring things out on my own even if the path is rough and it takes a lot of time. If someone handed you an unpeeled oranges, do not complain, you can always peel it slowly and gently. Just like taking things slow in life and be gentle with yourself even if it gives you sour days. It is heaven for me imagining the privilege to make my own decision. but look at me right now, wanting to be a kid again. I question the behavior of people older than me; they always prefer quiet places and stay at home during their rest days. And finally, now I know. Because life humbles you deeply as you age. So, as a coping, I always think that this discomfort and tiredness will bring us lessons and a new horizon in life. Pain is constant, so life lessons are.

I worked very hard to save money to enroll in college through my own hard work and skills. Nowadays, at the age of 26 years old, I have saved a significant amount of money to spend on my studies. If you don’t feel like pleasing them, then that’s valid. You need to take a break on things that questions your worth and values as a person. You don’t have to be always on their demand whenever they want you to. Saying ‘no’ is a way of limiting yourself in to submission just to please them. Opening up felt heavy at first, but I learned that sharing my story didn’t make me weak—it helped me breathe lighter and realize that healing is possible. Through my struggles, I discovered the value of compassion and how even the smallest act of care can spark hope in someone’s darkest moment. My journey reminds me that strength is not about hiding pain but finding courage to speak, connect, and keep moving forward.

There was a time I felt like I had to keep my struggles hidden. I laughed with my friends, joined family gatherings, and pretended everything was fine, but inside I was drowning. One day, someone noticed the cracks behind my smile and asked me how I was really doing. That moment gave me the courage to speak up. It was the beginning of finding help, and slowly, finding myself again.

This story shows that many who appear fine on the outside may be silently struggling within. Sometimes, the loudest laughter hides the deepest pain, and what makes the difference is one simple, genuine question that shows someone truly cares. It reminds us that courage can be found in small steps, like choosing to speak up, and that kindness can open the door to healing. During Suicide Prevention Month, we are called to listen without judgment, extend compassion, and create a community where no one feels they must face their battles alone.

Be Brave and Kind, If you see a friend pulling away, acting different, or just seeming sad, don't ignore it. It takes courage to say, "Hey, I've noticed you haven't seemed like yourself lately. Are you okay? I'm here to listen. And you should Listen to Understand You don't have to fix their problems. Just letting them talk, without judging, is a huge act of friendship. It proves to them that they matter, and they are not alone. And Make a Difference Every time you choose to speak up with kindness and check in on someone, you are making a difference. You are helping to build a community your school, your friends, your family where it’s okay to say, "I need help." We should always Remember this Talking about feeling low or having suicidal thoughts doesn't create the problem; it creates the solution. We are trying to replace silence with conversation, and isolation with connection.

The moment I turned 13, life became dull. It was when the epidemic broke out then the world I knew completely turned upside-down. Ages 13 up until 16 was a blur for me, it was as if I just blinked and everything changed—but me, I was still the same but much older and still confused. I didn't had a wonderful teenage years, where I enjoyed school and met new friends—not just me but also the kids in my generation. Even until now, I still envy those people who had a "normal" teenage years. Every night I wonder, what kind of a person I am if only the pandemic didn't happen? What kind of mindset would I have if only I was exposed to much more than a four cornered room and a quarantine? What kind of feelings would i have if only I felt everything. Thoughts filling up my mind, questions unanswered and what if's buried. Because no one could ever answer my questions, not even me. So I trusted the universe. I trusted the stars and constellations. I trusted everything into the moon as it lit my dark sky. I trusted. Since 16 years old I never imagined myself to live past that age. Didn't even had a single thought of pursuing college and being happy. Didn't trusted myself that I can survive. Many attempts were made to end my life. Many thoughts crossed my mind. Many instances I tried crossing a busy road without looking—because i felt nothing. Like an empty shell. I was too numb to even care about whatever was happening around me. Everything was fleeting, like i was in the space with zero gravity—just floating around the vastness. It was as if I didn't know who I was for years. Like i was no one. Invisible. Nothing. I felt hollow that i didn't even know what my values are, what my stand in life is. Sparks behind my eyes were burnt out—not a single spark was ever seen. Like a walking nutshell. I thought everything was ending for me. I thought about ending it for myself.

But life is full surprises. I'm now in my first year in college. Since turning 17, I met new friends who helped me heal myself. Felt grounded and actually got to feel what life is all about. I now appreciate myself more than anyone could do. I now know myself more than anyone who tried to. I am now myself—happy, and excited into what tomorrow is holding.

Knowing myself was actually the key to surpass the void that I have been feeling for years. Knowing what I want and actually standing with what I value is what helped me anchor myself to reality. Knowing myself helped me feel everything—the pain, sadness, happiness, and life. So try and know yourself more. Talk to yourself more. Look at yourself and smile. Appreciate yourself more. Speak kindly towards your reflection and your shadow. Accept who you are and if you want change, then change because no one really cares. People only cares for themselves, so care for yourself.

I've been living my life without a purpose all this time. I was once the reliable son, a son with a lot of goals and purpose. However, the old version of me vanished when my father pass away. I was 17th that time, I grew up to realize how important being a father in family, specially to your child. The support that I was looking for, it was never there. So, I began wasting my youth by spending too much time on computer games, dropped out to college and chose to play computer 24/7. I prioritized my happiness over career, so here I am. Now, all those years I have spent wasting, I suddenly came realize that time won't wait for us to grow up, and I started taking life seriously up until today. To those who reading this and walk the same path with me, it's not too late to change yourself. Go get that goal and be happy and be responsible at the same time. Time won't wait for your success.

At such times, it is okay to feel sad without fully understanding Why? Embrace your emotions, as they are part of your journey towards healing and growth. Remember that just as the darkest night will give way to dawn, your sadness will give way to a brighter tomorrow. Believe that within you lies the strength to overcome any challenge, and that happiness will find its way back into your heart. For so long, you felt isolated, surrounded by people who didn’t truly see you—but I’m glad you finally found the strength to let go of those ties. Believe me, I have never felt more like myself than I do now, allowing people to come and go freely from my life. My days are filled with happiness, and I know now that I truly deserve it.

So listen closely: letting go of people may feel painful at first, but trust me—once you do, the peace and happiness you will experience are beyond anything you could ever imagine. It will be one of the most beautiful and liberating chapter of your life.

But as days turned into weeks, I realized how scary it could be. Every deadline felt like a ticking clock, every exam like a mountain I wasn’t ready to climb.

Sometimes, the pressure of competing with others and trying to meet expectations made me feel like I was carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders. There were nights I stared at my books, too tired to keep reading, but too anxious to stop.

College isn’t just about studying it’s about surviving the pressure, balancing everything, and trying not to lose yourself in the process. And while it scares me, I know that each challenge is shaping me into someone stronger than I was yesterday.

I'm always insecure about my self, in my appearance, voice, eyesight, and academic achievement, I have a very low confidence on my self. Last year my twin sister graduated with honor, she got on stage and received a medal. I'm jealous, why I'm not also a honor student?, I always do my best. But now as I reflect, I realize all my efforts is not enough, I have to give it my all. So instead of getting jealous to others because of their achievement, I realized that I should focus on my self. So now, I'm working in all my insecurities and my confidence.

It's not bad to have a insecurities, sometimes its our inspiration to do better and help achieve our goals.

i just wrote a short story about a butterfly who loses its wings, at the beginning of that written piece i asked "what will happen if the butterfly starts to lose its wings? would people still admire them? the way we imagine its dazzling appearance that now left to be just like a little worm without its colorful wings, do we still get mesmerized by their beauty?"

now just like a normal person who lives with his own normal life, we all shift from different situations, almost everyday we move to make changes and if that happens we feel it, then it might make us feel happy or sad. i want this to be a reminder to all my fellow students who might stumble on this post of mine, from my heart i wanted to give you a gentle tap specially for those who feels like they lose their wings, you didn't lose it and you will always and always be flying beautifully no matter what. because at this moment of my life, i realized and said to myself "no, i didn't lose my wings in fact i'm here at the garden resting in one of the beautiful flower, preparing myself for a journey where i can widely spread my wings and fly" and so as you. 🦋✨️

✍️: ᴍʙ

Sometimes because of the hardships we faced in our studies or careers, we doubt ourselves for not being good enough. But when we start thinking in a positive way, like in these quotes, "As long as you're learning, you aren't failing," as a human, it's okay to fail; there's no perfect in this world. So instead of doubting yourself for not going well enough, remember failure doesn't define your future.
