"Kelley's monkey island work impressed me because I liked the way he has done this island project. He designed many creative and surreal characters for the island, and his concept of the project was clear and uncanny. This work inspired me to design an island. Also, he made a series of ghosts; he found his style and subjects through his self-observation and consideration of public culture. Monkeys and ghosts often come from our imagination, and we all have this cultural character. He reflected an image for his ghost series, and he created many works from his creativity and public culture. It's intriguing that he took public cultural objects into consideration."

'Zine-making workshop'

"In this zine workshop, I met many people and completed these zines through various interactions with them. During this process, I collected images of food (preferably sweet) and those that conveyed a sugary, pleasant feeling. I then looked for other images that matched well with those. Inspired by things like grandfather’s nagging or sweet moments in daily life, I was able to create these two illustrative zines. Later, when I introduced the zines to some of the people I met during the workshop, I explained that I wanted to express a sweet atmosphere and a casual vibe."
