Peregrine Falcons really have no predators, besides the fact that before Peregrine Falcons were getting close to being extinct because the government has put DDT, the pesticide, has thinned the eggshells. As a result it has shortened the hatching progression. Since then the population has came down. But in the years from 1974-1994, the U.S. west has set a variety of Peregrine Falcons free, now they live in freedom. The Peregrine Falcons eat songbirds, ducks, as well as bats, a group of hunting birds that includes such birds as hawks and eagles, Carnivores, and Pigeons.

March through May is the mating season for Peregrine Falcons and May is when more falcons are born. First the Falcons mate, then the egg is fertilized, and the female falcon would go through gestation for 29-32 days. They would give birth to the eggs, and they would have about 3-4 eggs. The eggs would hatch until about a month, and the Female falcon would stay with the eggs for a while the male the egg is now a eyas, a baby falcon. The eyas would stay in the nest for up to about 6 weeks. After 42 days the eyas is ready to take flight. After the eyas took their their first flight they are now a fledgling, but they still depend on their parents on now to hunt. Then they become Juveniles, and start to take after themselves after they know how to fly. Then the whole cycle starts all over again.

Peregrine falcons catch their prey in mid-air! Peregrine Falcons catch medium-sized birds in the air with swift, dives, called stoops. In cities they are very skilled at catching pigeons. In other places they feed especially on shorebirds and ducks. They often sit on high perches, waiting for the right opportunity to make their attack. Peregrine Falcons Dive and catch their prey at more than 200 miles per hour Only 20% birds end up being killed that the falcon tries to catch.

in 1947 DDT was introduced for use as a pesticide in the U.S. In 1970 Two of the three subspecies of peregrine falcon from America and the Arctic, and are classified as endangered under the Endangered Species Act of 1969. In 1972 The Environmental Protection Agency outlaws DDT as a pesticide due to the thinning of eggshells which trims the hatching success. In 1975 Survey recorded only 324 nesting pairs exist in North America, compared to approximately 3,875 prior to DDT usage. Between 1980-1990, the number of known pairs on territories in North America tripled from 499 to 1540.
