I opened my eyes and looked at the levitating land that is far away from my house. The levitating land right next to the moon was a beautiful place I’ve ever seen. I wish that I would be saved by a hero, I will be free from this depressing world I’m living in one day. 

The levitating land had beautiful trees called “Cherry Blossoms” around the strawberry castle. At the top of the castle is The Shining Star where a beam of light shines bright like a star. I may not know the name of the land or a lot of information about the levitating land but, I heard people saying that the levitating land is a happy land without crime, where mages take people out of the shadow.  Then my mom entered our room. 

“Kyoni.” Mom said in a serious tone. “Wake your sister there’s something I need to tell ya both.” Mom waited for me to wake Kiyo up. 

Kiyo and I rushed downstairs to meet Mom there in the living room. Mom and Dad were holding their weapons in their hands, the other weapons are on the round table. While my Mom and Dad were discussing each other before talking to us, I looked at the backyard and saw a rose spilled with red paint like blood.

My name is Jules, a 13 year girl who is a citizen from Portland, Oregon. I have an older brother, Haru, and an older sister, Erica., and we are 5 members of this family. 

Before we left Portland, my heart was stabbed painfully because I lost all of my friends who aren’t Japanese in 7th grade this year. They were throwing rocks at me at school and they sat the opposite side where I was sitting. Did I do something wrong? We were in a bus that took us south of our hometown which is Tule Lake. In my luggage, I brought my painting tools, cause whenever I’m in a place i’ve never been, I always paint landscapes of that place!
