It occurred on July 21, 1952, at 4:52 a.m. It is described as the largest earthquake in Southern California since Fort Trejon in 1857 and Owen County in 1872. The force of the earthquake was incredibly strong, and was felt in other places including in Nevada. The quake was responsible for at least 18 injuries and 12 deaths, along with 50 million dollars in damage. There were 188 recorded aftershocks, all of which were at least a magnitude of 5.0 and higher. It originated from White Wolf fault. Geologists were surprised, as it did not seem that it was a threat. this earthquake resulted in only 2 deaths but what it did leave behind was a major 220 mile scar that goes along the San Andreas Fault; here is where earthquake activity is more likely to be calculated because of patterns that follow every few years.

The reason I choose this earthquake was because this had the biggest magnitude above all the earthquakes recorded in CA history.
