However, it is through our direct, individual actions that we affect those around us; and thus in a chain-reaction, we indirectly influence people we
 have not yet met, or never meet.  Thereby, we play a role in the development of the world, no matter how big or small it may be, through our effectual change we may bring into other people’s lives. This global/country-wide impact our lives have on the world has been discussed and explained by many authors of literature, including F. Scott Fitzgerald, and his famed work The Great Gatsby.
