There’s no telling what you might find in there

It’s filled with unexplainable thoughts

13 years of lessons I’ve been taught

There have been moments where I have felt naive

But I have learnt I just have to believe

Sometimes when I close my eyes

I will never expect the things I might find

Sometimes I feel like I have been pushed 

But I was told I fell and overlooked

Take a look inside my mind

Who knows what you might find?
 When I get lost in thought, it’s like a secret rendezvous 

My dull mind doesn’t have much hue 

I know I’m only thirteen

But sometimes I feel, this isn’t the teenage dream

My mind is a wonderous place

Not a single thing or thought would I replace

There’s no telling what you might find in there

Through the door is my special place

Each little thing, I will never replace

my unique crystals beside where I sleep

Is something that I will always keep

A fragment of my memory, each plush toy

Every toy and story brings me a special joy

When my thoughts overflow in my head

And I overthink, what I soon dread

My eyelids get heavier and I start to close my eyes

Pure blackness and silence until sunrise 

My school uniform in the corner of my sight

I already can’t wait until its the quiet night

There’s no telling what you might find in there.

 

A multitude of misplaced things:

Toys, clothes, and plastic rings.

 

The grand sound of waves crashing on the sand

The feel of the scorching car alone on the land

 

The cold winter nights spent up curled by the fire

The dark early mornings that seemed so dire

 

The look of the sun as it set on the sea

Unleashing a beauty no one could foresee

 

Old photographs stored in the back of a drawer

The snip-its of memories had me wishing for more

 

The kind, soft eyes of the beloved teddy bear

Guiding me through homesick nights here and there

 

My watch still ticking as the seconds go by

Sitting patiently, as it watches time fly

 

This multitude of memories that were made before

Remind me of the whole world left to explore.

 

 

There’s no telling what you might find in there.

If You can’t find what’s in my mind, 

You will realise There’s some memories on rewind.

There’s some memories, a good one a bad.

There’s even some with my dad being rad. 

There’s A care somewhere, but beware.

There’s a memory there but it will stare  into the air of nowhere.

This was a memory, it wasn’t clear,

But I could feel it came near.

It was you and my heart,

You broke it and ripped it all apart.

This was a matter that changed me to shatter.

This was a memory that causes a debt, one im yet to forget.

There’s no telling what you might find in there

Sometimes moving fast, sometimes slow, 

Its filled to the brim 

About to overflow

 

With songs and music I love

Food I desire to eat

My homework and schoolwork that due

Is my locker messy or neat? 

 

If you dig a little deeper, 

You will find things stored there for years

From my third birthday party, and when I moved school

When I stood up and faced my fears

There is no telling what you may find in there 

Books about crooks 

Fill Curves swerves and nooks 

A place that holds great pain  

Memories of jumping in the rain 

My own story that can be told  

Never ever can be sold  

Sounds and pounds fill my mind  

No telling what you may find  

I cannot promise it will be perfect  

But it is my own little project  

Written by me and only I can see 

What goes on in my mind with you and me  

I have a fashioned window out of this poem 

If you see something you like take it home

There’s no telling what you might find in there.

It’s brimming with bits and bobs:

half-done art projects and half-finished jobs,

the ripped-up paper from when nothing was right,

a tattered plane ticket from a just-missed flight.

It’s filled with all the things I didn’t say,

all the times I’ve pretended, all the roles I’ve had to play,

a book and some earphones to drown out the pain,

photos of the friendships that trickled down the drain,

the long, lonely nights when nobody was there,

and a fear, nibbling away at the walls, 

telling me that nobody cares. 

 

It’s an organised mess up in my head,

If you try to clean it up, you might get lost instead.

 

 

THERES NO TELLING WHAT YOU MIGHT FIND IN THERE 

MAYBE A STORMY SNOW 

OR MAYBE A LUMINOUS GLOW

MORMORIES PILED IN UNTIDY STACKS 

MAYBE THE FANCY HANDLE OF THAT ELEGANT AXE 

SOME MEMORIES HIDDEN JUST OUT OF REACH 

OR MAYBE THAT NEVER ENDING PREACH 

THE NIGHTS OF FUN AND DAYS OF GLOOM

OR THAT EVER SO BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS BLOOM

DAYS THAT STRETCHED FOREVER

DREAMS THAT WERE FILLED WITH LEASURE 

MY VERY FIRST FIGHT 

WHAT I KNOW IS WRONG AND RIGHT 

There’s no telling what you might find in there

Whether it lost memories or fulfilled goals 

You might find these throughout my soul.

Sometimes these memorise are locked away 

But they are here to stay 

You may find some weird thing so beware

The things you will find are personal so don’t share 

Memorise of mum and I going to the beach

Just like my father helping me with my speech

My grandfather’s driving me around in his wheelchair

Or when my grandma was teaching me how to horse ride and my hair 

was in the flowing in the air

even more birthday cards waiting to explode our of mind

I have so many friends that are so kind

There’s no telling what you might find in there?

My brain is filled with things hard to read 

Most of the stuff I don’t even need.

The chaos rushes to and thro,

never letting my mind go.

But there is just, this one small file,

that never fails to make me smile,

my room, my family and my pets, 

always helps me, with the troubles I wish to forget.

An old glove tattered and worn

Who knows what stories will be upturn?

A broken clock an old picture

Will you find the used scripture?

A hair tie riddled in dust,

A drawing which was rushed,

A jar of shells,

Are more sentimental than swells.

A shirt the size of a dress,

A cloth filled with regrets.

A stuffed toy dog,

Found as often a girl saying pog.

Have you ever seen a gun?

I’ve got to say it is not fun.

A game called Minecraft

Is so different I would call it witchcraft

 

I have fashioned a window out of this poem.

If you’ve seen something you like, take it home.

Nobody knows what you will find in there.

It’s filled with memories from decades ago:

A small child playing with a bouncy ball.

Children laughing, bouncing and bumping around,

A bumpy day on the boat,

The lumpy waves crashing against the hull.

A grandmother lulling a child to sleep.

An old photo I kept of a puppy about to leap,

The colour is still bold, but it ripped and crumpled.

A video of my sister as she skipped along the shore.

People taking photos of a plane soaring high in the sky.

A small pony trotting along as a child clung to its mane.

An old grandfather clock that used to go DONG!

A flock of birds flew overhead as a family wondered by the beach,

Their screeching and tweeting made it hard to hear the waves kiss the sand.

There’s no telling what you’ll find in there;

A dog, a cat or even me as future mayor;

Its filling to the brim but beware;

It’s about to overflow;

It never stops it never goes slow;

Each memory you find;

Is always a dime; 

I’ll never forget any single one;

Each is as good as another one;

All the way from far behind. 

A photograph from all the way back, 

Not containing a piece of black, 

Memories of long ago,  

lots of colours that they show, 

A horse as well that trots along, 

With unbreakable hoofs, tough and strong. 

Rainbows that paint the sky, 

Magpies that swoop and fly. 

The sweet sound of music fills the air, 

With not a single tad of despair. 

 

There’s no telling what you might find in there?
