Berkeley sits right on the San Fransisco bay and is only about 1 hour from Silicon Valley- one of the tech capitals of the world. The average SAT scores to get into UC Berkeley are from 620 to 750. I also learned that while Berkeley is very prestigious and competitive, the (in-state) tuition is fairly inexpensive because the fact that it is a public school. I have learned that NYU is known for having celebrity guest professors and for having a vibrant social scene.
