         <description><![CDATA[<p>A simple sentence consists of a single clause, which begins with a noun phrase known as the subject. The subject is the person or thing the sentence is about.          <description><![CDATA[<p>A compound sentence includes two or more independent clauses that can be connected by a coordinating conjunction or a semicolon. An independent clause is simply one that can stand on its own as a complete sentence, while a coordinating conjunction is a word that joins two clauses of equal importance.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>For example:</strong></p><ul><li><p>I like to listen to music and my brother likes to play basketball.</p></li><li><p>Lucia writes books and Mateo paints pictures.</p></li><li><p>Elisa brought pizza for dinner, but her mother heated it in the microwave.</p><p><br/></p></li></ul>]]></description>
