Today has not felt quite right. The sky has been a bit too blue and the scent of the air a bit too crisp, but foraging was fruitful. I even found some extra crumbs in the castle not swept away by those god forsaken maidens who are forever whisking away the scraps that would content my belly. What? Wait? What is that tingling? My toes feel odd, and my whiskers are quivering. They haven’t quivered like that since I met my beloved Annabella by that discarded loaf of bread. Yes, I like this feeling buuuuuuuttttttttt, whoa! My feet are...are...HUMAN! My whiskers are...are HUMAN! My soft, furry, brown fur is...is...now a blanket of green velvet. What, am I wearing the grass? I...I can see more clearly with these spectacles. And, this pumpkin is now a carriage. I AM a human. I am a HUMAN. Ahhhhhh, do my eyes deceive me? Cinderella even looks different.

Monologue: Drizella: the mean step sister from CinderellaThe nerve of that brat! She thought she would take mother’s old tablecloth and somehow turn it into a dress. She thought she looked so beautiful in those scraps. I can’t believe that she would believe she’s worthy enough to meet the prince and go to a ball. Who does she think she is? She’s a peasant, not even good enough of to clean our house. Well, we showed her. I saw that she used my old hair ribbon for a sash and I ripped it right off her skinny little body. After Anastasia and I got done with her, there was nothing left to that homemade hand-me-down.

I like the tone that you create in the first sentence. I can hear the character's internal voice clearly.

I also use a rhetorical question that reveals Drizella's self-important self-perception.

I wonder if Drizella is really envious of Cinderella's skinny little body?
You also nicely create a villainous character that makes me want to root for Cinderella and can't wait to celebrate her defeat of the mean sister. Ah, revenge will be sweet!

I wonder...you channel her tone so well. Any Drizella in you???? :)

Lisa

I noticed your very descriptive language you used to describe the mouse's transformation, my favorite was the brown fur turning to green velvet.
I also noticed how the metaphors you used helped the reader understand the full extent of the mouse's transformation, the mouse had not felt a tingling since he met Anabella by the bread.
I wonder how the mouse will feel after midnight
I wonder how the mouse will interact with his mouse friends who also turned into footmen or horses to take Cinderella to the ball

You can tell how starstruck Cinderella is by your first paragraph. I ilke how you portrayed her as very excited to meet the prince but still humble at the same time by stating how grateful she was for her mice.

I was wondering if you think she was nervous or anxious at all considering they don't let her out.
