Hello! I'm Carlo Gesualdo, Prince of Venosa and Count of Conza, I was born on March 8, 1566, I have lived 47 years. I am an Italian composer, one of the most significant figuras of the Renaissance, second son of Fabrizio Gesualdo. When my brother died I inherited titles and Dynastic rights of the family, tono which belonged the principality of Venosa since 1560. I began my musical studies at the academy founded by my father and frequented by top músics.

The voice: The piece rose to extreme popularity in the 16th century, even appearing at the head of the first volume of motets ever printed. Its revolutionary open style featuring early imitative counterpoint and two-voice parts has added to its acclaim as one of the most influential compositions of its era.
