In todays lesson i learnt whilst doing one of my mood boards the different types of shots used by professional photographers. The shots i learnt was stuff i didn't know existed for example 'Low Angle Shot', i didn't know that was an actual type of camera shot.

I also learnt a little bit on photoshop, but i again didn't go into to much detail with photoshop so i didn't learn as much as i should of.

The first lesson wasn't to complicated and hard for me to panic.

The second mood board was to show what photoshop is and how to use it with a video teaching you how to use it.

I felt like i worked as fast as i could, however i feel like my information on photoshop could have been more researched and possibly more detailed in how photoshop works.

The purpose of this activity was to get use to research and find out things that interest us. Therefore by picking three we had a wide range of variety of topics to choose from.

I had trouble finding different things on photoshop as there wasn't much material to look at than there was for types of shots. i overcome this on the basis that i put down whatever i could find with more images than videos. There wasn't many websites i could find so i made do with the stuff i did find. For next lesson i had to choose a topic out of my three and do research based on this chosen topic. We then had to do a draft mind map to get us use to our final mind map.

I feel confident about my chosen topic as photography is something i am passionate about so therefore i was comfortable doing types of shots.

Today we researched more on our choosen idea for what we wanted to do, showing audiences how to do a certain thing. I chose type of shots so I researched the different cameras and types of shots and also the different videos that came up on YouTube for this topic, took notes on ideas in the process. I also started to form a plan in my head what I was thinking about doing during my video.

After we researched we watched a video on why mind maps was useful, in that I learnt that doing curved lines and coloured mind maps your brain will find it more appealing and remember what was on it because you were attracted to the mindmap.

In doing so we then did a draft mindmap for our choosen ideas and how we could tell audiences (YouTube videos, documents, websites etc).

I didn't face many challenges as i already knew what topic to chose last lesson, it was mainly the idea for the mind map that took a while to think about. However i didn't find this challenging.

I need to have ideas for my mind map to do next lesson based on my research. i feel confident on what I've done so far as this is the topic i wanted to chose because its something I'm very much into passionately.

I possibly need to be more creative with my mind maps as i struggled making it colourful and eye appealing.

Today we completed our mind maps and had a work shop on Different types of shots and editing. I didn't do the editing workshop as i went out the class towards the end. However i did do the Camera equipment workshop where we set up the camera, i didn't learn anything new as I've already done media before so i already knew how to set up the camera. However we were times for this task and we took the longest because my other team mates let me do it all by myself and Alix decided to take an important part we needed without realising she had taken it we looked for it which ate most of our time away.

We watched videos on the types of camera shots. I learnt some new shots that i didn't already know before and i also figured that having music in the background and no one speaking within the video was just as effective as someone talking and explaining the different types. Its also more effective to show the visuals of the different types of shots as we see for our self what they look like not just what they mean.

This purpose was to show us existing products and compare two different types together to show that one was more effective than the other. This was also to show us ideas that we could include in our videos.

We need to have a chosen video idea for next lesson as we are going to story board our process,

Today we done a story board based on our chosen subject to do for our video. I had choosen"types of shots". Therefore my story board I did was based on this topic. We did a written/draft board before hand and then continued with a digital story board online. The purpose of this is activity is to get a brief plan of what we are going to be doing for our video and what goes where for our idea.

The challenges is processing an idea i really couldn't think of an idea or what to do exactly where anything was going to be and who would do it for me. i really struggled with thinking of an actual idea for my video. Also on the digital storyboard the photos wouldn't paste properly so i was getting annoyed that it wouldn't work.

For next lesson i really needed to have an idea of where i wanted to film and what exactly i was going to be doing to fill out forms of my idea.

I learnt not the types of shots that existed, as I had already learnt this, as I did research before hand, but if I saw "ECU" I would know what it stands for.

I didn't complete the actual story board in lesson but i completed this at home so this needed to be completed for next week as i needed my story boards completed for what we were going to do for next week.

I don't feel very confident in everything i done today because i still don't have a solid idea of where a bouts I'm going to film.

Pre production by doing a story board and learnt how to write a proposal, the equipment booking log, the contingency plan, location visit document and production schedule.

For pre production I learnt that if I have a plan for my idea that I should plan more into it and have a plan b a backup plan. The purpose of doing this activity is so i know exactly what, where and who is going to be in my video.

In today's lesson we started our Blendspace page for our choosen topic. Last week we did a digital story board, the completed version was uploaded and the draft was uploaded to it.

We also had the documents that we did from this lesson all filled out and uploaded onto Blendspace. The struggle that I learnt and faced today was uploading the document I created on word. You had to link it up with Dropbox and Blendspace so you can download the document onto Blendspace.

I learnt how to use blend space properly and dropbox. I needed to complete all work sheets Delta had given us before next lesson. At this point all the sheets need to be completed as i haven't even finished the sheet below. However we are going to be completing this at home.

Im not very confident in my idea for my video as the location i have chosen to do was throw together location and not a thoughtout process.

I feel i need to improve my motivation in completing tasks in class rather than putting it off.

Below is my written proposal..

In todays lesson we got split into two groups, one went off to learn about using professional cameras, where we had a talk show where some of us got in front of the camera, me included. Whilst the other half caught up or polished off finishing touches to their work, we then swooped over. The purpose of both these tasks was to get us to catch up on work we were unhappy with and the practical was to give us an idea of how to use cameras as we are shooting our own video.

I thought, i don't like being filmed, so i faced up to that and went in front of the camera which was a challenge for me in itself.

I learnt about how to use a professional camera, how much they cost and why they use the green screen and this is because its the furthest colour from the colour of our skin.

The only thing for next lesson we need is our actual video all done and edited, possibly, or have a test shoot.

I feel more confident than last lesson, i do still a bit worried about where I'm filming and who I'm going to ask to be apart of it.

In today's lesson we tightened up our coursework on padlet and blendspace. The purposes of this task was to make our course work presentable and up to date with no gaps and the best possible standard to get a decent grade from it. Some students had one to one with delta so she could go through the improvements we needed to make and what grade we are working towards.

Also during this lesson Jack spoke to us about editing and went in to detail on how to work with editing when it came to editing our videos. This was to prompt us to use a little bit of editing in that lesson. The purpose of this was to get us comfortable with editing.

I didn't have problems with this because I've used editing software before hand so I was use to using this. However I have forgotten all the tools and things so it was useful getting a talk from Jack to remind me on how to use things and what tools to use.

This lesson was to help me for the next two weeks with editin my own video which is what I needed to do for within the next two weeks.

I felt at ease in this lesson knowing I could re-adjust my course work and remind myself how to edit.

In this lesson i spent the majority of the lesson i spent filming for my types of shots tutorial video. I had an idea that was a back up to my original video so i continued this by using harlow college students filming around college. Before this jack helped us go through a tutorial about how to use the cameras. He took us to the TV studios to take us step by step about how to use a camera that harlow college provided. This was helpful to me as i had never used the cameras being given to us, so i learnt how to use a bigger, better camera.

In the process of filming i struggled getting to grips using/holding the camera as i found it very heavy for me to hold. Therefore this effected the quality of the videos as it was very shaky. Maybe for next time i would prefer to use a camera smaller and less heavier with a tripod so i have better quality videos.

The purpose of this lesson was to get to know the camera that we was using and the purpose of me filming was to catch up because i hadn't filmed as my original idea i couldn't do.

Next weeks lesson do any editing i need to do and present my video and gain feedback on things i did well and things i need to improve on. By the end of this lesson i did feel much more calmer than at the start because i hadn't filmed anything, so i was happy i had something.

In todays lesson i completed the checklist, gave feedback to a fellow peer about their work, completed the evaluation and completed the visual diaries as well as the self assessment form that i had already done before hand but filled out the last box.

The purpose of this lesson was to look at the negative and positive things about our video and taken that in to include in our evaluation. We had to make our evaluation in detail including everything we done and need to improve on.

As i am not on work experience i can come in next week and finalise my new video that i would have recorded.

Since the old video didn't work out properly the way I'd of hoped, I redone my video and the exact feed back I got was "The music matched with the video. From the first video it has improved so much. It's really good and the shots match perfectly to the name and the shots are well filmed. Good use by holding the camera steady, decent font/text size, consistent area used, very simple and easy to watch, constantly had the viewers attention.
