We learn that the statistics were much higher during older times then now. We can see how difficult this time period was and how difficult it was to deal with mental health when there wasn’t much help for people. We learn that women had a higher suicide rate than men, and this is still the situation today. Everything was very negative and people thought they had nothing to live for. Suicide rates must have been the most common relief for the pain and this is why the numbers were doubled. I think that people didn’t have the same resources as they do now with psychologists and people to be able to talk to when you are sad. Their weren’t proper facilities or treatments for people to go through to help them feel happier. People weren’t sure what to do, so these were the unfortunate outcomes.

With the residential schools and how children were beaten a not treated fairly and having to share these stories now. Canadian are embarassed of their past and hate when people mention their past and what terrible event went on. Canadian government tried to apologize multiple to times in order to gain the respect back from the First Nation people. Canadians today now have multiple places to go if they need help in order to inevit deaths in the country, and show more support.
