This is later contradicted in the film when she makes the daring choice to sneak into Thorwald's apartment. In this scene, she is filmed in a wide shot, which aims to showcase both her character and the surrounding environment. The audience is able to observe her in the apartment from Jeff's point of view which conveys Hitchcock's message that appearance is not a true indication of who someone is.
