However, before becoming a teacher she did a lot of interesting things. Firstly, she studied Biology in La Laguna University in Tenerife. Many had doubts about her doing a degree in Biology, since at that time there were nearly any jobs available for Biology graduates. But Lourdes decided she was going to do it anyway, and after 5 years of studying, she graduated. She didn’t have to do a thesis because at that time it wasn’t necessary, but her 5th year of University was dedicated to traveling around the world and studying the climate and fauna of whatever place she was in.
After University, she spent the next 9 years doing research, and shortly after that she decided to try teaching out…Which takes us right to this very moment!
