"The Shack" was a movie that aired in 2017. The movie follows the story of a dedicated father who loses his young daughter in a kidnap/ murder. Following his loss, he must go on a journey of self discovery and connected through nature's offers.
Not only given the movie's setting, the movie has many scenes that show the importance of nature. In one scene, it shows an entire field of flowers that bloom at the hands of the character that plays The Holy Spirit. This is why I chose this particular quote.
The big giveaway I found in this quote was the part about the city of God. Not only does it directly connect to the religious background of the film, but it also talks of beauty appearing as the flowers did.

The hit, ongoing 34 season show, "Survivor" lives up to its title. The part of this show is for numerous "regular" people to try their hand at surviving purely on their wits and survival skill. Through challenges, eliminations, betrayals, and the elements, the people are put through the true ringer.
This show in particular really shows the trust and power we must have in ourselves. Without self-reliance, no one would be able to compete and survive this show, as they have nothing unless they win it. The elements and surprises the contestants face are only solved by trusting your gut.
The aspect of the show that connected to the quote was that you must not have friends and hope to rely on, only yourself. The betrayal that the contestants see is very apparent and connective to this quote in particular, and that is why I chose it. The best person to get you through the tough situation is yourself, and yourself alone.

The 2008 animated film, "Wall-E," takes place in a futuristic world where everything has died and the human race has "grown," for lack of better terms. Through the movie, Wall-E a little robot is trying to restore the world to how it is supposed to be. The whole act is started with one simple plant.
Given that Wall-E was so intrigued and content over a plain and simple plant really showed the aspects of a simple life. The plant resembled change that Wall-E needed for his life to be complete, and something so simple did it.
The ending of my chosen quote showed that with everything simple, Wall-E was able to look past everything and see the truth he was looking for. Everything felt less complex as the plant was shown in it's vibrant green color. The solitude that the quote speaks of reminds of the people that were confined, were set free once the simple plant was introduced.

Kate Hudson and Rani

The famous actress Kate Hudson recently gave birth to Rani. Hudson then made the announcement that she wishes to raise Rani genderless. She decided to change her thinking due to the fact that she wants Rani to be raised in a house full of love and absent of judgement. She did this despite of all the hateful comments Hudson has received.
This was a sure example for non-conformity. Hudson is doing something that has been virtually unheard of. This is why it fit so well into this tenant in particular, among others. The tradition this world has seen has always had the strict men and women and Hudson is blurring that line.
This simple quote I chose was because this is something that is very frowned upon in today's world. The hate that the Hudson family has seen really shows the ruts that conformity has in in everyone and everywhere.

"The Book Thief" is a book that follows the story of a young girl named Liesel. The book takes place during the time of World War II starting after Liesel was put in a new home. While in the new home, Liesel is able to connect with a Jew hidden in the basement of the family's house.
Given that Liesel's family hidden a Jew even though it was a direct line to a painful and tortured death, they still went through with it. This is why this book in particular came to mind when I though about intuition over reason. On top of the storyline, a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson came to mind.
When I read this quote, the part that stuc out was the the part about deeming something justly. Liesel's family deemed that they were doing the right thing even though not everyone thinks the same way, a higher thought if you will.
