The stakeholder group, Northern Illawarra Regional Aboriginal Care (NIRAC), has a goal to ensure Country and it's associated traditional owners are cared for. This group majorly focuses on the importance of consultation and aims to routinely participate in governance. Through implementing planning activities of which are led by Aboriginal people, the raw aspects of identity and culture can be maintained. Through creating these initiatives that manage the distribution of power over land, Aboriginal people have an uplifted voice and a platform to share their stories and ideas. These activities explore the components of negotiating with governments, developers and other parties.
