They offer community, tight knit groups of people with the same faith and morals as you which makes it look much more appealing since the cities are expanding and this makes community harder to gather and keep together

Christianity gave people hope and dignity. As the roman society enforced classism, the christian church was a way out for many. There, all people were seen as equal. This was appealing for those of the lower class.

In the Roman empire there were many issues such as poverty and sickness. Christianity offered a release from these problems. This was very appealing to the people who were suffering from these issues. Christian churches increasingly provided more services for their people. As the roman government was not doing so, people benefitted from these services and felt compelled to join the church for the services. They would help you even if you did not have money, different from the Roman society.

The people were also offered a great deal of support from all members. Overall, it was a more accepting and welcoming society for all people. There was mutual support from all members.
