Most of the movements didn't separate antiwar work from other things like civil rights of social justice concerns. All of those sections were brought together by different campaigns. The Vietnam War served as an early civil rights movement, which started struggles around race, identity, and gender.

Innocent Vietnamese peasants were being killed. Ho Chi Minh was the most popular leader in all of Vietnam, and the United States were supporting an undemocratic military regime. There were young American soldiers suffering and dying. Their arguments were less compliex.
