Farm bill fails in House, amid conservative uprising over immigration

Summary
Immigration laws and bills are far more important than national farm bills. At least this is what this article is all about because the GOP ( Grand Old Party) seeks to better improve and tighten the food stamps rules, but because many of the house members were democrats they would oppose republican ideas. So the farm bill failed to be recognized due to the focus conservatives are giving immigration. Since the conservatives want to boost the border patrol security as an effort to decrease illegal immigration to the country.
So because immigration is at the moment one of the most important matters caused the farm bill to fail in the house which would not have done nothing to decrease immigration.

Reflection
Immigration has gone over the board lately that it has become a pressing matter which requires everyone’s utmost attention. Immigration has rose victorious against a farm bill in the house which was supposed to tighten the food stamp rule which would help low income individuals by making food more accessible for them and to open more to the public. Though because immigration is so active lately that many illegal families and illegal individuals who expect their family to come to the U.S that it has been decided to boost border patrol to decrease the amount of illegal immigration which was decided after the farm bill the GOP was trying to get to pass failed. So the reason why the farm bill failed was because of shaky leadership due to the leader of the GOP is in the process of retiring. So basically many people are affected by this decision, but because immigration is too active it is causing that the focus of the government is immigration.

Summary

The GOP is supporting immigrants be able to receive an amnesty or at least similar to an amnesty. Since there are many “dreamers who have come to this country when they were children, they should be able to remain legal and be supported in their education. So the GOP afraid that there would be a civil war if this continues they decided to even grant trump his so desired $25 billion wall between the U.S and mexico. But because there is more than 1 million people who would be receiving the benefits of the amnesty there are democrats, moderates, and even trump who would disagree to this amnesty.

Reflection

The GOP helps immigrant families receive an amnesty. An amnesty for the immigrant population specially the illegal immigrants would be helpful for those who have reasons like escaping from death, seek to help my family, etc. Though the “dreamers” are the focus this time because they can be supported and properly educated and grant them the opportunity to seek a better future. Even though the decision to grant citizenship to the DACA people would affect them and the people already here by adding a sense of hatred from the illegal immigrant view, and racism from the view of racist people.

Summary

The discharge petition to grant “dreamers” U.S citizenship is losing steam as votes on DACA are announced. Paul Ryan the speaker of the House proposed the idea to vote on DACA between the conservatives and moderates. Since several conservatives and moderates are sure that they would not reach a solution over immigration. So Henry Cuellar representative of texas signed the discharge. Even though the discharge petitions to grant citizenship to “dreamers” is still going on, and the discharge only needed 2 more signatures to shield the “dreamers” of deportation the petition seems to be a failure.

Reflection

The Dreamers are in danger of being deported after failed efforts of republicans to help the dreamers. Since the house of representatives speaker proposed an idea to have a vote over DACA. Which would lead to the demise of the discharge petition that would have helped dreamers obtain citizenship. Though the republicans believe that they would be able bring the discharge petition again, but the results might not be the same.

Summary

Healthcare is available to everyone in California. President Trump’s “zero tolerance” immigrant policy seems like an obstacle for immigrants to receive healthcare. Though California has a law that was passed during 2015 that granted children extending healthcare for every children no matter their immigration status. Which costs the golden state around $1.7 billion per year to cover undocumented immigrants over emergency and pregnancy related services. So California’s governor Brown has not vetoed or signed the bill which the GOP wants to cutback on the spendings of the healthcare coverage, but if the GOP succeeds California will be forced to not be able to cover every immigrant.

Does the Law Apply to Donald Trump?

Summary

The law does not affect presidents. Or at least that is what Donald Trump believes after posting a tweet on twitter stating that he is above the law. Though if the President where to be above the law and be able to pardon himself then President Obama could have easily dropped Hillary Clinton’s email controversy. So what gives Trump security that he is above the law is the support/approval he gets from the Republican party having 87% of approval. So in the Judicial branch there are two ideas that the President is above the law since it has not been tested, and the idea that the President is not above the law.

Reflection

President Donald Trump Being above the law. The fact the Trump is above the law is frightening in itself because if that were the case he would be allowed to do so many atrocities towards the people he is in bad terms with like the Mexicans. Luckily what Trump tweeted out does not seem true nor Trump seems like he will test out his power. Because if he were to do such a thing then many families of immigrants would be deported, many people would be accused of “fake news”, etc.

Summary

The case that put many Japanese-americans into detention camps may have ties to Trump’s travel ban. Korematsu v. United States set a law that isolated the japanese living in america due to suspicion of their loyalty after pearl harbor. The Trump administration tried to set a travel ban which echoed Korematsu v United States all over it. Though the ban was tossed out after the Travel ban was also declined.

Reflection

The Supreme court ended declined both Korematsu v US and the Travel ban recently. Since the Travel ban seeked to ban certain cultures to enter the country. This was seen as a discriminatory law that Trump’s administration wanted to set out. Thanks to this the Korematsu v US was tossed out or rather finished its effect.

Summary

States are able to collect taxes. The Supreme court ruled that states are now able to collect taxes. This means that the states are now able to collect extra billions of dollars for revenue. This also means consumers might pay extra whenever they buy through online shops.

Reflection

The Supreme court handed over the victory to the states on tax. This affect the consumers by making them pay more whenever they buy things online. Because the states are able to make extra money on revenue by collecting the taxes of retailers online. Though this happened it is still uncertain which states are going to take advantage of this ruling.
