The first Hawaiian born, African American President Barack Hussein Obama is the Nobel Prize winning, same sex marriage supporting, top terrorists killing and two term Republican nightmare. Barack Obama was born on 4thAugust in 1941 in Hawaii.

Barack Obama: Life In Brief

  • Barack Obama was inauguratedas 44th President of the United States of America. Obama became the first African American to serve in that office (on 20thJanuary, 2009).
  • The son of black Kenyan father and a white American mother, Obama was raised in Hawaii.
  • Obama earned his degrees from Columbia University and Harvard Law School.
  • He worked as a community organizer in Chicago, where he met Michelle La Vaughn Robinson and married her in 1992;he has two lovely daughters named Malia Ann and Natasha (Sasha) they were born in 1998 and 2001 respectively.
  • Obama was elected to the Illinois state senate in the year 1996 and he served there for 8 years.
  • In 2004,he was elected to the U.S Senate from Illinois and in February 2007 announced his candidacy for the President.
  • When President Obama took the office he faced major challenges, the economy of the country was at recession and the outgoing administration of George W.Bush had began to implement a controversial bail out thing which they try to help by struggling financial institutions.

First 100 Days

 

  • In his first few days in the office Obama issued presidential memoranda directing he U.S military to develop the plans to withdraw troops from Iraq and also issued executive orders.
  • Obama reduced the secrecy given to the presidential records, he also revoked President George W.Bush restoration of President Ronald Reagans Mexico City Policy restricting federal aid to international family planning organizations which performs or provides counseling about the abortions.
 

Domestic Policies

  • The 1st bill signed into law by Barack Obama was the Lily Ledbetter Fair Pay Act Of 2009.
  • In 2009 Obama reversed a Bush era policy, which had limited funding of embryonic stem cell research.
  • Two women were appointed to serve the Supreme Court. Barack Obama nominated Sonia Soto mayor on 20th May 2009 (replacing retiring Associate Justice David Souter), which was confirmed on 6th May 2009.
  • On 30th March 2010, Obama signed Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act, which ended the process of the federal government giving subsidies to the private banks to give federally insured loans.
  • He is one of the most successful President of U.S.A and many writers; producers want his story to be published in their celebrity bios.
