in this play, it seems that to be masculine you must be able to provide for your family and have a steady job. And to be able to protect them at any cost. this is how miller portrays Eddies opinion. however i think that Millers personal opinion throughout the story is that to be a singer and have blonde hair does not mean that you are feminine, in fact to be masculine is rather subjective .

In a view from the brige, The author tried to show us what it was like (or how it had to be) To be a manin the 1950'. We can see that you where not really considered a man if you where getting your hair colored blond or if you liked to sing. But he also shows it in different ways, for example with the character that he is a loving usband and a caring father, even if he has weird ways of showing it. The author also shows another perspective of masculinity, with the character of Marco, who is leaving his family, just to be able to send them money. But some bad sides of masculinity are also shawn in the book, when they talk about men during a chat, making it feel like men are perverts. But that is only my opinion
