Dear Ibu Lina,

Thank you for all your contributions and dedication to the AHA Centre.

Working with you always reminds me the newsroom where I used to work as a journalist: deadline, accuracy, double-check, and, of course, pressure :D But, as you often say, that's how it should work, especially when dealing with messages or products to the public. I will always remember our discussions and arguments behind the production process of our communication products.

As one of the COVID-19 generations at the AHA Centre, I have been fortunate to have the opportunity to work directly under your supervision and meet you in person in several occasions. That has made me easier to understand how the AHA Centre works.

Your way of leading reminds us that every leader has their unique way to lead, communicate and engage with those who led. Your perseverance in leading the ship to transform amidts many eyes watching you like in a glass house is remarkable, not many women and even men have such skills and capacity.

I still remember the day I was looking for an opportunity to interview you for my postgrad thesis when you were still the ADR of DMHA of ASEC, but i couldn't have one because you were always travel at that time (and now i know it's the nature of ASEC and AHA work, lol). And surprisingly, I bumped into you in a toilet while I was singing quite loud and suddenly you appeared. I was malu actually like "omg this is the lady I was looking for and she saw me now like this" wkwkwk!
Anw bu, CONGRADUATION!! You have served this region for really a long time, travel so much from one place to another, deep dive in this sector and inspiring people with what we have stored in this beautiful region. Thanks for all the lessons, challenge me, argue with me, and most importantly trust in me to deliver lots of mission impossible in my life. Appreciate for the trust and opportunities until I become a Tom Cruise in my own version.

This is of course not a good bye. See you again, somewhere someday, hopefully in Myanmar so we can eat Mohingya and chicken wings together in the restaurant in front of 8 Mile Hotel in Yangon (missing those weekly travels to Myanmar with you and AC. lol)!

I can still remember a question during my interview for the position of DMA Officer for the AHA Centre. I was asked, "If your mom will describe you, how do you think she will answer?" And I mentioned that she is getting old and it so happened that you are almost of the same age. I thought that my answer/statement there lost me my chance of getting into the AHA Centre. Haha!

I can still vividly remember our first meeting here in the Philippines. It was February of 2020. We had dinner with Pak Arnel and Mas Jommel. I am really thankful that I got to meet you at least once. IT IS DEFINITELY AN HONOR to have worked in the AHA Centre under your leadership. It sucks though that this pandemic has hindered a lot of opportunities for everyone. But this has not hindered you to guide the whole AHA Centre to navigate the rough seas of a pandemic.

I know I am not a perfect employee of the AHA Centre and this pandemic has really challenged everyone of the AHA Covid generation to knowing the nooks and crannies of their roles. So, I am immensely thankful for your patience. I am really the type of person who responds well to your type of leadership. As I mentioned in my linkedin post, "Warm and yet tough. Kind and yet fierce."

Something that I will never forget about you is your spirit and energic leadership style. Rarely I saw a female leader in a disaster world that, in my opinion, is dominated by men. You are one among a few resourceful persons who understand well the ASEAN way. Your dedication to serving ASEAN for many years and being a leader for coordinating humanitarian assistance for the region with long historical records of disasters is proof that a woman can lead and an inspiration for women to pursue a career. Time flies so fast, and I could not believe my eyes looking at the calendar and it is already August 2021. I have been at the AHA Centre for less than a year, but I am so lucky to meet you face-to-face.

It is something I feel that your energy level is always full, not only for things you are doing but for the sake of organisation and all of us to grow.

I thank you for the trust you gave to me to involve and support team and the organisation in several events. To me, it sharpened my knowledge and experience!

I know that August is about to end soon and September is coming shortly, but I won't hear you anymore at the 60 minutes meeting and many sessions. I hope you read this and notice that the way I express this is part of my appreciation to your leadership syle. I will always remember it!

I met Ibu Lina,long time ago,before AHA Centre even established. I supported the HFI in supporting the workshop in socialising the AADMER,a few years after its signing. I am not sure what to say hahahah. As you said, it comes late, and just now it finally sinks to me that you are leaving. One thing for sure is that I am gonna miss all the inside stories that I normally hear from you during our meetings, chats, and these past weeks during our podcast recording sessions :')
