Once you pick a topic and an experiment stay committed and stick to it. Even if it's the first week. Do NOT carry out an experiment that you cannot finish in less than a week. Do not pick an experiment that requires people. Most people would be busy and don't have time to help you. Finish your report a day or two earlier to spell check and complete the checklist. Also, finish early to brag about being done. If you decide to make a handwritten process journal, at some point you will get tire of writing. It's best to do the Google Doc.

Make sure you manage your time because even thought you think you have a lot of time finish something, your wrong, time will go by really fast. As a result, don't to anything at the last minute, do it when you can. Also, concentrate in class don't to anything stupid while the teacher is talking because you might miss something important. Always, ALWAYS read the rubric more than one time because you might not do something that will not get you a 7-8. Don't do ANY sloppy work because that might cost you a good grade. If you don't understand what is going on in class or if you want to know more information, ask the teacher. Don't play any games during class as well.
My final words of "wisdom" are that you should answer questions during class.

Although the ISI is not as grand as a project as you may expect it to be, you need to plan everything quite carefully, or else everything will fall apart and you will have to start over. Not to cause fear in you, but still. Also, it is best to check and double-check if you have written everything correctly in your lab report. At some point, you will become so tired that you will not be writing as professionally as you wish you were. That also means that you would have to take periods of rest. It is also best if you finished your experiments about 1-2 weeks earlier than what Ms. Kim has assigned for you. That way, you will have more than enough time to analyze, conclude, and test for validity and reliability. Then you may have more than enough time to play, while everyone else is working their butts off. It will be hilarious. If you procrastinate, you will witness the stupidity that I have. The afternoon that it was due, everyone was running around, trying to print the lab report. Untimely technical difficulties and people running out of printing money will mean that not everyone will be so lucky as to print during that time. So ALWAYS DO STUFF EARLY. That's it. If you follow that simple rule, then you will be able to complete this huge task in no time. Well, in a month, but figuratively, no time.

Try to finish things before they are actually due. So that in the end, you are ready to submit and don't have to rush like others may.
It's not as hard as people may say it is, as long as you spend your time wisely. The LAST thing you want to do is procrastinate.
And also, choose a topic that you know you'll enjoy experimenting with.
