A: Someone to most likely catfish is a person seeking attention. Also someone who is not happy with who they are or what place they are in with they're life.

A: You would most likely find catfishing on big social media. For example when Myspace was big they're would be a plethora of catfishers.
Q:Why might catfishing benefit a person?
A: Catfishing would benefit a person because it gives them a certain power over others. He says to her that he comes from a wealthy family as well but this is a lie. He doesn't think she will love him if she knew he wasn't actually rich. This happens a lot in modern day society as well. People are so desperate for a specific person or a longing for the feeling of companionship that they lie and "catfish" the person they're talking to. On the tv show "Catfish", they meet up with the person they've been talking to online and see if they've been lying about who they are. "Findings suggest that college students utilize MySpace for identity exploration, engaging in social comparison and expressing idealized aspects of the selves they wish to become" (self presentation and gender on myspace). They all get caught eventually and that's what happened to Jay. Daisy's husband calls Jay out and explains that the way he is gaining is money is not the way he told Daisy. This lie destroyed Daisy and Jay's relationship.
