The series of murder did not stop until there were none alive.

What makes me could not put this book down is the way Christie constructs and connects the circumstances. Here comes a surprise and then another, the novel keeps me thinking and guessing all the time. I could hardly figure out where the story is leading me to till the last page. Personally, what I consider the best part is the postscript at the end of the novel. The truth is revealed at the last minute in form of a letter written by the murderer himself – a person with mysterious and interesting characteristics described as “enjoy killing but have a fierce sense of justice”

Grave of the Fireflies, although an animated film, is haunting and bare, in a heavy, gloomy atmosphere.

The film has a slow rhythm, with few climaxes. The story is told through the perspective of the older brother Seita in the process of taking care of his sick younger sister who fled the war.

Seita appears at the beginning of the film as a smart, brave boy with high self-esteem like any other Japanese person.

But due to circumstances, to preserve his life, he was also forced to put aside his pride. Seita stole food, accepted being beaten, accepted kneeling and begging strangers to have mercy on his situation. Meanwhile, Setsuko is built in the film as an active, mischievous, crybaby girl but also very easy to "seduce". Setsuko is a rare element that brings bright colors, creating "breathing spaces" for a tragic work about war.
