the theme in Langston Hughes poem democracy is freedom is not free. In the text it states that " i have as much right as the other fellow has to stand on my two feet and own the land." this shows that that he has a should have a right to stand up to himself and fight for himself. Another piece of evidence is that freedom is a strong seed planted in a great need, i live here too i want freedom just as you. this piece of evidence shows that Langston is saying that its not fair that he can't have freedom even though he lives here too with us that he should have freedom equally.

The theme in Hughes poem "Democracy" is freedom because not of the black women and men didn't get what they wanted so they were fighting for it. In stanza 13 it states,' I do not want freedom when i'm dead. This quote shows that he doesn't want justice when hes dead he wants to live the justice. In stanza 5 it states,' I have as much as right as the other fellow has". This quote show that everyone should have a right to do what ever they want just like a white man can.

(R/A) The theme in the poem "Democracy" is freedom. (C)The theme of freedom is shown in the title, and throughout the third stanza, "I do not need my freedom when I'm dead." (E) This means what good is my freedom when I'm dead.(C) Another way the theme of freedom is shown in the poem is in the 4th and last stanza when it says, "Freedom is a strong seed planted in a great need. I live here too. I want freedom just as you." (E) This stanza is saying that he would like freedom just like everyone else. (R) This is how the theme of freedom is shown in the poem Democracy.

The theme of Langston Hughes theme poem democracy, is that its not free. For example it states "I do not need my freedom when i'm dead I cannot live on tomorrow bread" This quote states, that he didnt get his freedom without a price. Another example it states "freedom is a strong seed planted in a great need" it quote shows that freedom is not free and he compares it to a seed. Overall this shows that democracy is not free.

The theme in the poem, "Democracy" by Langston Hughes is Equality. In S2(L:5-6) it states, " I have asmuch right as the other fellow." This shows that Langston feels he is being mistreated in the orchestrated chaos that we know today as middle scho- I MEAN society. Meanwhile, in S3(L:10-11) it states, "I tire so of hearing people say, 'Let things take their course. Tomorrow is another day.' " This shows that Langston is losing his patience, and he dosen't want to wait for something to happen. This is the theme described in the poem.

- Enmanuel Diaz
7-301

The theme in the poem "Democracy is freedom because everyone deserves freedom. In the lines 5-6 it states " I have as much right, As the other fellow has". This evidence shows that he can have as much freedom as the another fellow. In text it states "Freedom is a strong seed Planted In a great need. I live here too. I want freedom Just as you". This evidence shows that freedom is needed in this world and he wants as much freedom as you do. This is why the poem "Democracy" is the theme Freedom.

In the text it states “Democracy will not come” This quote proves that he isn’t able to get his own freedom. Also in the text it states “I have as much right as the other fellow has to stand in my own two feet and own the land” This proves that he wants his own freedom and not controlled by others. Another detail is “I live here too. I want freedom just as you.” This quote shows that he wants freedom just as the other free people. In conclusion, the theme in “democracy” is that he isn’t able to get the freedom that he wants.
