The article starts of by stating that the behavior of some people are being affected by the fact that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will a member of Congress. Moreover, the article talks about the 70-80 percent, tax rate Alexandria wants to implement which would affect those who have very high incomes. In addition the article talked about diminishing marginal utility which refers to the notion of the extra dollar and how it is less appreciated by people who have higher incomes in comparison to those with higher incomes. To conclude the article suggested we should not care about a rule that only affects the super rich. Then after it also talked about how if the tax percentage was any higher the economy would be effected because then there would be no incentive to be that rich.

The term "Behavioral economics," for the study of how people make economic decisions, had not yet come into use when the United States introduced tax withholding during World War II. In the language of behavioral economics, this reflects the "Prospect theory value function," in which receiving a large check from the government at tax time is very pleasurable, and writing a large check to the government very painful.
