Overview

From the survey responses completed by teachers at your school, digital citizenship is not taught by classroom teachers. Although guidance lessons are offered on this topic, you will receive strategies and tools to implement digital citizenship lessons in your classrooms. This professional development session will explore case studies of cyberbullied students and their effects on them and their classes. We will also explore the Beaufort County School District policies about cyberbullying and your responsibilities as a teacher when confronted with this problem. At the end of the session, teachers will see a model cyberbully lesson and receive material and links to lessons to share with their students. Our goal will be to give you real-life examples of cyberbullying, knowledge of the policies when confronting cyberbullying, and tools to create a safe online environment for your students. Cyberbullying stops here!
