Oh Romeo, Oh Romeo, what a great soul you had. A wonderful, full hearted, emotional, man you were. Your father, Lord Montague, and your cousin, Benvolio, and many more will miss you dearly. Sadly, we are here today, because our boy, Romeo, took his own life all over a girl. Only if he could have controlled his emotions a little better, none of us would have to go through this agony. Hopefully, he ended up somewhere with Juliet since he "loved" her so dearly for the couple of days he knew her. His last words were "Here's to my love. O true apothecary, Thy drugs are quick. Thus with a kiss I die." He loved her so dearly, only if he could have been smarter with his choices, they could be here today.

This eulogy supports the main theme by showing the reason for Romeo's death. Romeo killed himself after thinking Juliet died. It is understandable to be sad over a death, but Romeo let his emotions lead him to ending how own life. Juliet and Romeo only knew each other for less than a week, so especially in this situation, death should not have been an option for him. His emotions took control of him and influenced him to make an irrational decision.

Tybalt, Romeo's cousin, killed Mercutio, who was one of Romeo's best friends. Out of anger, Romeo got his get back, by killing Tybalt. "Alive, in triumph! and Mercutio slain! Away to heaven, respective lenity,And fire-eyed fury be my conduct now!"(Act 3, scene1) This is what Romeo said soon before he stabbed Tybalt. The word use of fire-eyed fury" shows the anger building in Romeo at that moment. This resulted in the banishment of Romeo and the separation of Juliet and him. Instead of controlling his anger or solving the issue maturity, he acted on it and did something that not only affected him, but anyone that had a relationship with Tybalt. Also, Romeo soon started to feel regretful about his decisions. Everything started to go downhill from there. The whole situation could have been avoided if Romeo gave himself time to cool down rather than kill someone out of anger

1)Grenade-Bruno Mars

2)Can't Blame a Girl for Trying-Sabrina Carpenter

3)Dumb Love-Mimi Webb

4)Something Stupid-Frank Sinatra

All of these songs have something in common, they all talk about doing dumb things because of being in love. This connects to Romeo and Juliet because they both did stupid things because they felt so strongly for each other. In the song Something Stupid, there is a lyric that says, "And then I go and spoil it all
By saying somethin' stupid like, "I love you" This relates to Juliet because when Romeo asked her to marry her, she was hesitant because they only knew each other for a few days. Her hesitance was shown in scene 2, act 2, when it states "I have no joy of this contract tonight. It is too rash, too unadvised, too sudden" The "contract" she is referring to is saying yes to marriage. Even though she didn't say yes at that moment, not too long after, she agreed because she loved him so much. The other songs in the playlist, also have lyrics that relate to letting love and other emotions lead to making a decision that someone might get hurt by or regret in the future. Even though Romeo and Juliet were in love, the story is still a tragedy, and ends with the death of both of them. Maybe if they weren't in such a hurry to be together and marry, they would have lived longer.

In many schools, reading Romeo and Juliet is very common. Others may just choose to read it for fun. Either way, this play has many great things it touches on and portrays through the story. One of the things that gets shown through the play, is to not rush big decisions, even if the need to do so is strong. In the play, when Romeo was trying to convince Friar Lawrence to help him get married, Friar Lawrence was saying some impactful things to try to make him think more about his choice. In Act 2, scene 3, Friar States, "So soon forsaken? Young men’s love then lies, Not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes." He is implying that the decision seemed very soon and that in a lot of cases people think being in love is the same as finding someone attractive. This is a good message not only for Romeo, but anyone who is in a relationship. Also, the play is filled with all different types of figurative language. This is one of the many reasons why teachers love making their students read it. The students get to dissect the text so they can understand the meaning behind the metaphor, personification, ect. This helps students understand figurative language and get a better grasp on the story. Overall, the play, Romeo and Juliet is great for all readers because it gives them good examples of what to do and what to not do. Also, it helps with the school aspect by having a good plot, but making it difficult enough so the students really have to think.

Genre 5-Different Ending

Romeo and Juliet is known for being a great love story, but also a heartbreaking tragedy. What if something happened differently? Would it change the ending?

New ending: Even though Juliets and Romeos love for each other was strong and seemed unstoppable, they chose to go their own ways. Juliet and her father came to an agreement of working together to find her a good husband. Romeo left Verona, and moved far away. Though, it took long to get over each other, they knew they made the right choice, when they both were living happily again. They saved their lives by choosing to think out their decision of staying together or not. They both matured by a huge amount and are ready to have a new start. Sometimes all it takes is to think with our brains and not our hearts, even if it's painful at first.

This new ending might seem boring to some readers. But the importance of it is that they lived. They made a choose, even though it seemed hard in the moment. They got to live out their lives happily, in return.

This padlet contains different ways to show the main theme of Romeo and Juliet. Each genre gives examples of irrational thinking and decision making done by Romeo and Juliet. The theme of the play is that letting emotions control you and your decision making, can lead to negative consequences. This theme doesn't only apply to the characters of the play, but also everyone. Even if people are full of love, anger, sadness, etc, they should fully think out their decisions without letting how they feel completely make the choice for them. Some consequences that can come from doing this are, death, regret, pain, and more. Romeo and Juliet does a great job by portraying this theme and sharing this important message to many people.
