It happened six years ago, but I still remember everything from that day.” In this section of the text, Starr is reminded about her friend Natasha who also died when thinking about Khalil. Even though this event happened six years ago she remembers it like it was yesterday. She remembers being in the Grocery store when Natasha came in to tell her that the fire hydrant broke so they could go play. She remembers being in the street playing and she suddenly notices a car. She was the only one who noticed it. Then she sees an arm stick out with a gun. She remembers the arm being tattooed and the gun being a glock. She remembers three shots going off and everybody running. Starr dove into a rose bush. She remembers someone saying call nine one one. Natasha got hit and Starr says Natasha’s blood mixed in with the water. She also says that it looked like a red river flowing down the street. If she can remember so many details like this in an event that happened six years I would say Starr is skilled.
