Andy’s partner created Bonobos while they were in Stanford business school. When they were in school, he was able to get 16,000 in a month and eventually Andy stepped in and helped out and was given the roll of CEO. This was after Andy failed his business first of making beef jerky that originated in South Africa. While this business failed bonobos took off and became very successful.

Andy then moved to New York and headquartered his business there. He first tested to see if New York was really the smartest place to move to by having a pants testing site at his old classmates apartment. With his first pants testing place he sold to every person there but one. He knew right then and there that New York is the best location to really start Bonobos. He next bought an apartment and started his business out of his house

As Bonobos began to take off Andy had to hire more employees, which made a huge problem for him. As he began to get more overhead he started to loose money instead of gaining it. At the lowest point in the business he was told that he had 8 days until he didn’t have enough money to cover payroll. This is because he had hired so many software engineer so he could focus on the internet side of Bonobos. So then he had to do something so he can keep his business up.

When Andy was in college he and his roommate started the business named Bonobos. This is a clothing brand that fits pants tailored to fitting both you thighs and your hips. Originally it was a side hustle to help them get through college with a little bit of money. As they made more and more money Andy decided to take over the business as his roommate started a different job. This allowed Andy to take the business in his direction. He then started to make shirts and other types of clothes which isn’t just pants.

As he started loosing more and more money Andy decided to fly to the west coast to try and fundraise more to try and save the business. When he landed he tried to rent a car and his company card was declined so he had to use his personal card to get his car. When he finally got his car he drove right to a Starbucks for his first investor meeting and was able to eventually fundraise 1.8 million dollars between 120 people. This allowed him to not only keep his company but grow it to an even bigger company. Using this money he expanded to a west coast location for his e commerce side of the company.
